The wedding of Miss Nancy Faye Simmons and Robert Grey Wrenn, Jr., took place Sunday afternoon, October 20. at 4 o’clock in the after noon at Otjoad Street Methodist Church. 'Trie pastor. Rev. George H. Hodges, officiated. . The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Eugene Simmons. of Route 1. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grey Wrenn, Spartanburg Road. A program of wedding music was presented by Mrs. James Pitt?, or ganist, and Miss Theda Sublett, solo ist. Mrs. Pitts played a number of nuptial selections, including the tra ditional wedding processional and re cessional. Miss Sublett sang "Thru the Years,” "It I Could Tell You” and "Wedding Prayer.” Ushers were Abner Hurst, of Thomaston, Ga.; Johnnie Hender son, Tuskegee, Ala.; William Dew ey, New York City, and Roger Ho- vencampe, Trumansburg, N. Y. John Wrenn, brother of the groom, served as best man. Mrs. James Putnam, of Laurens, was matron of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Misses Barbara and Joyce Simmons, sisters of the bride. All attendants wore dresses of emerald green nylon tricot and net over taffeta, fashioned with shirred bodice and an apple green floating panel in back. They wore pearl earrings, gifts 6f the bride, and carried Nosegays of yellow chrysanthemum^. The bride,y|>iven in marriage by her father, wore a wedding gown of scalloped French Chantilly lace and net over taffeta featuring a Queen Ann collar. Her fingertip veil of il lusion was gathered to a tiara of se quins and pearls. She carried a white orchid on a prayer book. Church decorations were arrange ments of white chrysanthemums, palms, lighted tapers in candelabra entwined with fern and ivy. The bride’s mother was gowned in pink Chantilly lace over taffeta with matching bolero, brown and pink accessories. She wore a brown orchid corsage. The groom’s mother wore blue velveteen, blue and white accessory and an orchid corsage. Following the ceremony a recep tion was held at the Hotel Mary Musgrove Ballroom. Later in the evening the couple left for a wedding trip to the moun tains. For traveling the bride wore a brown suit with beige and brown accessories and the orchid taken from her prayer book** Both the bride and groom are graduates of Clinton High School. Mr. Wrenn attended Clemson and is serving with the United States Ma rine Corps at Cherry Point, N. C , where they will make their home.
