Dale Hurt returned home with them for a visit. Wells and Warren Goss remained with their grandmother. Mrs. Maggie Lominack, of Cam den, is spending two weeks with her granddaughter, Mrs. Ralph Blackwell, while Mr. Blackwell is at Camp Stewart, Ga., with the National Guard. Ann Boswell, of Rome, Ga., is spending a few weeks with her .grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Thornburg. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Henry and children, of Greenville, were Sun day guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Abercrombie. Mrs. J. B. Neal and Jimmy spent a few days the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Carson Neal in Greenville. Mr. Neal joined them there for the week-end. Dianne Neal returned home with them for a week’s visit. Lewis Motte, of Savannah. Ga., spent Sunday with his brother, W. L. Motte, and Mrs. Motte. Miss Brenda Jean McLendon, of Greenwood, is spending this week with her grandfather, C. J. Blackwell, and cousin, Miss Har net Wilson. and children and Mrs. Katie Mc Daniel, of Davenport, Fla., are spending two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. I. C. McLendon and other relatives. Miss Patsy Ward, of Conway, is visiting her sister, Mrs. Stanley Hardee, Jr., and Rev. Hardee. Mrs. J. J. Snider, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Snider and son, of Belton, visited their son and brother, Roy Snider, and Mrs. Snider Sunday. Ray Boozer visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Boozer, in Newberry Saturday. Mr .and Mrs. Luther Medlock and children, of Joanna, were Sunday dinner guests of the for mer’s sister, Mrs. Alma Harvey. Becky Medlock remained for a week’s visit with her cousin, Samaline Harvey. Mrs. Daisy Corley, Mhs. R. E. Butler and Miss Bonnie Butler, of Greenwood, were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Corley on Tuesday of last week, coming especially for the piano recital of Mrs.. Joe Land’s pupils in which Miss Linda Corley played Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Harvey, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Claude Franks, of Joanna, spent the week-end with their children, A1C and Mrs. Bob Franks, in Nor folk, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Prince and daughter, Brenda, of* Marietta, Ga., were visitors of the former’s mother, Mrs. Sam Prince and oth er relatives during the week-end. Mrs. Alton Gwinn and daugh ter, of Joanna, will make their home with Mrs. Gwinn’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Mitchell, while Mr. Gwinn is in Cuba with the Navy . , ' . . Floyd Emory visited his father, day. Friends are sorry to hear of Mr. Emory’s serious illness. Mrs. Sara Jenkins and Lynn, ’Mrs. John Crowe and Mrs. Mattie Harvey spent the wekeend with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rowe in Hen dersonville, N. C. . \ Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Green, of Columbia, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Hughey. Mrs. Henry Abercrombie at tended the recent graduatiqn ex ercises and luncheon following at Presbyterian College. Her son, the Rev. J. B. Abercrombie, pas tor of Welcome Baptist church, Laurens, was one of the gradu ates. Lester Davis is suffering an in jured hand, having a finger in jured in an accident Sunday. Mrs. Laura Darby has return ed home after a two weeks visit with her son, SP and Mrs. Dewey Darby, in Charleston, going -es pecially to welcome her newest granddaughter, little Ina Lydia Daxby. Little Laura Darby re turned home with her grand mother for a two weeks visit. Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Garrett, of Great Falls, were Sunday Quests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Templeton. Darleene Templeton returned to Great Falls, with them fox* a week’s stay. Mrs. ,Neil Ballew and Mrs. Woodrow McLendon, of Green wood, visated Mrs. Virginia Wil son last Thursday. Susan Carroll was 7 years old June 11. Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Abercrom bie will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary June 24. Mrs. Bertie Attaway will cele brate her 76th birthday June 16. Church Ads In The Chronicle Win Award For Keister* In an impressive ceremony in the old Supreme Court Chamber of the National Capitol, Washing ton, D. C., the Keister Advertising Service, of Strasburg, Va., was the recipienfrjune 6 of an award presented by Freedoms Founda tion; whose headquarters are at Valley Forge, Pa. The Keister "Support of the Church’’ series has been running in The Chron icle for several years. The Keister organization re ceived the top advertising award in the “Spiritual Values” catego ry. The award was presented jointly by Dr. Kenneth Wells, President of Freedoms Founda tion, and Dr. Francis P. Gaines, President of Washington and Lee University and a member of the awards committee. The Keister organization was among 26 re cipients at the Washington cere mony.
