Cooper re turned Tuesday from Orangeburg • after an overnight visit with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Cooper, going especially to see their new grandson. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Cox and daughters attended graduation at Carlisle Military School, Bamberg, Monday. The latter’s brother, Ru pert Leary, of Greenwood, is a student there. Friends of Mrs. Rhett Adair will regret to know she is ill and a patient at Self Memorial Hos pital, Greenwood. Miss Ella Little McCrary left this week to spend the summer in Columbia with her sister, Mrs. R. P. Kapp and Mr. Kapp. Mrs. Bob Hardy, of Decatur, G,a., • was the week-end guest of her aunt, Miss Ruth (Bailey. Mrs. Robert S. Owens spent several days last week in Colum bia visiting Mr. Owens who is a patient at the Veterans Hospital and her daughter, Miss Anne Owens. She was joined there by her daughter, Mrs. Conway Twit- ty, of Richmond, Va. Miss Eloise Miller, a member of the Clinton High Schools faculty, has gone to Pauline to spend -the summer at her home there. Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Loftis leave today for Mars Hills, N. C. Their daughter, Miss Nanette Loftis, a student at Mars Hill College the past year, will return home with • them. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stallings and children, Mary Helen and Walter, Jr., of Fort Worth, Tex., will arrive today for a week’s visit with Mrs. Stalling’s sister, Mrs. Thurston Giles and Mr. Giles. Mrs. Bailey Dixon and son, Bai ley, have, returned from a several weeks visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs^ffr-^rWood, in Talla ttega, Ala. Mr. Dixon was there during the week-end and accoin-, panied them home. Miss Cornelia Harris, of Colum bia, spent the week-end with her mother, Mrs, W. W. Harris. Mrs. Howgrd Smith and chil dren have returned from a two weeks vsiit in Mullins with her mother, Mrs. Frances McGowan. Their friends will be interested to know Mrs. McGowan is recuper ating following an operation ill ness. Mr. Smith was in Mullins i during the week-end to accom- 1 pany them home. \ Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnson 1 are spending the week in Chica- Go., Ill, attending the Southern Baptist convention and in La- Grange, 111., visiting the former's brother, Raymond Johnson, and Mrs. Johnson. Mrs. E. B. Ginsberg returned the past week from a business trip to New York. College Finals Speakers Mrs. John Blake Gordon has re turned to her home in Washing ton, D. C., after a few days visit with her daughter, Mrs. Harry F. Lowman, Jr., and Major Lowman. She was accompanied home by her granddaughter, Miss Kathy Lowman. Also visiting the Low- mans enroute to and from a trip to Georgia were Miss Camille Du-' Bose, of Washington, D. C., and Mrs. Thomas Magruder, of Ar lington, Va. Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Smith and son, Phil, spent a few days last week at Windy Hill Beach where the former was attending a Belk’s managers meeting at the Ocean Forest Hotel, Myrtle Beach. They were joined there by Mr. and Mrs.^L. A. Reeves, of Beaufort. Mr. and Mrs. Perry M. Moore spent several days last week in Charleston attending the South Carolina Loan Association meet ing. Mrs. Dudley Jones is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Hubert Boyd, and Mr. Boyd Also guests of the Boyds on Saturday were Rev. and Mrs. Charles Raynal and sons, of Clemson. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Sumerel and sons, Bobby and Tommy, of Newport, Ky., will arrive Thurs day for a visit with Mr. Sumerel’s sister, Mrs. Jack W. Anderson, his brother, Ryland F. Sumerel, their families and other relatives here. Mr. W. I. Marlowe, of Tacoma Park, Washington, D. C., is spend ing some time with her mother, Mrs. Mary C. Kelly, near here. Friends of Mrs. Kelly will be glad to know she is recuperating from an illness. Also visiitng here are her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. O. N. • Kelley and small daughter, of Jacksonville, Fla. Mrsv Alan Suddeth and two sons, Tommy and Jimmy, will leave Friday to return to their home in Washington, D. C., after a week’s visit with the for mer’s mother, Mrs. B. H. Suddeth. Mrs. Ben Hammet and sons left Tuesday for a several weeks stay in Montgomery, Ala., with her mother, Mrs. Florence S. Jenkins. Mr. Hammet accompanied them to Montgomery. Henry H. Wing, of Atlanta, Ga., spent a few days last week with his daughter, Mrs. Newton B. Jones, and Dr. Jones. Dr. and Mrs. D. O. Rhame and sons, Don and Ricky, will return today from a few days stay at Myrtle Beach. Don, a student at Davidson College, N. C., is at home for the summer months. Dr. and Mrs. John McSween are spending several weeks at their cottage at Garden City Beach. Mr. and Mrs. James F. Leighton and son, Jeff, have gone to Char leston, W. Va., where Mr. Leigh ton will be a tennis coach at the Charleston Tennis club for the summer months. Mrs. Frank Miller, Mrs. J. H. Stone, Mrs. H. M. Young, Mrs. T. C. Johnson, Sr., and Mrs. G. A. Bruce Lamar Coker left early this week for Norfolk, Va., where he will be stationed at the Naval base after a visit with his par- enst, Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Coker. He recently completed his basic training at the U. S. Naval Train ing Center in Bainbridge, Md. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis E. Haynie, formerly of Belton, are occupying an apartment at the home of Mrs. J.
