Shealy has return ed to her home in Little Mountain after spending the past week with her son, W. C. Shealy, and Mrs. Shealy. Mrs. R. J. Copeland, Miss Jose phine Copeland and Bobby Cope land spent last week with Mrs. Copeland’s brother, R. W. Martin, and family at Wrigbtsville Beach, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Chaney and daughters, of Forest Park, Ga., visited the former’s mother, Mrs. E. D. Chaney and other rela tives on Mother’s Day. Mrs. Ben P. Mauldin and Mrs. William Gambrell visited their mother, Mrs. J. C. Fuller at St. Philips hospital in Rock Hill on Sunday. Mrs. Fuller is conva lescing following an operation on Saturday. They were accompan ied by Mrs. O. F. Beaty. * Mrs. Roy Pitts, Mrs. W. G. King, Sr., Mrs. Henderson Pitts, Mrs. W. C. Shealy, Mrs. Henry Young, Mrs. W. C. Baldwin, Sr., Mrs. Hubert Pitts, Mrs. Gus Hol lingsworth and Mrs. T. C. John son, Sr., were guests Friday for a luncheon at the home of Mrs. V. S. Harwell in Denmark. They also visited the Rose Garden at Edisto Gardens in Orangeburg. Mrs. D. H. Reynolds, Jr., and son, DeLeon, of Washington, Ga., spent Saturday here with rela tives. Dawson spent several days last week in Charleston where Dr. Dawson at tended the South Carolina Chiro practic convention held at the Fort Sumter hotel. Mrs. Dawson attended a luncheon for the ladies at Henry’s Restaurant where Mrs. Olin D. Jphnston, of Washington, D. C., and Spartanburg, was guest speaker. Miss Pauline Stevenson "spent the week-end in Greenwood with Miss Beatrice Ferguson. Mrs. Sammie Wright, who has held a position with the Bank of Clinton, is making her home in Charleston where she has accept ed a position with the South Carolina National Bank. Mrs. Wright has made her home with her mother, Mrs. Inez Pruitt. Miss Mae Blackwell, of Due West, spent several days this week here as the guest of her niece, Mrs. Roy Gasque, and Mr. Gasque. Friends of Mrs. John D. Davis will regret to know she is ill at her home. Mrs. J. Nolan Parker, of Aiken, and Miss Ruth Davis, of Oteen, N. C., spent several days this week with their mother. Mrs. R. W. Johnson spent the week-end in Columbia where she attended a two-day session of the state.meeting of the South Caro lina Credit Bureau. Mrs. Jim Barber, of Hamlet, N. Misses Jud£ and Marty, visited Mrs. R. W. Johnson and other relatives here during the week-end. Sgt. John son, who has been stationed at Amarillo, Texas, for several months since his return from Honolulu, joined his family who has been with Mrs. O. T. Lawing in Greer and will, accompany them to Amarillo about June 1. They were accompanied here by Mrs. Lawing. Mrs. Ethel R. Pitts was the week-end guest of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Russell, in Columbia. On Saturday evening they attended the wedding of their nephew and son, Robert Roland Russell, Jr., and Miss June Martin Corley, daughter of Mrs. Everette Marion Corley and the late Mr. Corley, at the Lexington Baptist church. Misses Emily and Maybelle Ar nold, of St. Petersburg, Fla., left yesterday for Wellesley, Mass., where they will spend the sum mer months, after a week’s stay here as guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Ferguson. F. Howard Smith attended a district meeting of the Pharma ceutical Association in Green wood the past week. Mr. Smith, Charlie Wesson and Bobby Tin man also attended a Rexall meet ing that evening. Miss Jenny Payne, student at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, spent' the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Horace D. Payne. Cub Scouts Visit Telephone Office - Recently Mrs. Edward Fergu son and ten Cub Scouts visited the Operating and Plant Equip ment rooms of the Southern Bell Telephone company. The* scouts were shown about the premises by Mrs. Josie McCaslan, chief op erator, who explained how the equipment worked and answered some very penetrating questions —theTclnd that only Cub Scouts can a ski. Newberry Club *\ Sponsors Tour Wells Japanese Garden* The Town and Country iGarden dub, of Newberry, is sponsoring the opening of Wells’ Japanese Gardens Sunday, May 26, from 2:30 to 6:30 p, m.
