Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bryant and daughter, Louise, of Columbia, visited Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nelson Saturday. l$irs. Bryant and Louise remained for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Boozer vis ited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Boozer in Newberry Saturday. Mrs. Juanita Brown, of Spar tanburg, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Stone and daughters, of Orange burg, were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Ike Jones over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell, Kenneth and Miss Ruth Tram mell visited Mr. and Mrs. Royce Smith near Laurens Sunday. Miss Claudine Moore of Mount- ville, spent the week-end with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Moore. Rev. and Mrs. Frank Jones, of Greenwood, visited Rev. and Mrs. Roscoe Bryan during the week end. Misses Betty Jo and Lucy Johnson ,otf Greenwood, spent the week-end with their sister, Mrs. Bryan, and Rev. Bryan. Mr. arid Mrs. C. B. Sharpton, Jr., and family, of Savannah, Ga., spent the week-end with her mother, Mrs. W. E. Johnson, and sister, Miss Mary Johnson. Their guests for dinner on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnson and family, of Rock Hill; Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Cobb and children, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Johnson and daughter, of Charlotte, N. C.; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Johnson and Johnny, of Clinton. Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Shumate, Jr., and children and Mrs. Mattie Harvey visited the Cherokee In dian reservation on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Mrs. Moor* Host*** For Party In celebration of the ftth birth day of her son, Phil, Mrs. Tommy Moore invited a number of little friends in for a party pn March 21. Outdoor games were enjoyed by the group. For refreshments the children were invited into the dining room where the beautiful green and yellow cake with six yellow can dles was the center of attention. The cake was cut and served with ice cream. Easter eggs and hand-painted marshmallow rab bits were on each plate. Bal loons were given as favors. Phil was remembered with gifts from his friends. Gu*at Speaker At Mission The Rev. J. R. Bryant will preach at the Church of God Mis sion at Cross Hill Saturday night at 7:30 p. m. and on Sunday af ternoon at 2:30 p. m. - The Banks family and band and the Gamble trio will also be present. James Coker is in charge of the mission services. The public is cordially invited to both services. Men's Club Meats Monday The Lydia Men’s club will meet Monday evening at Providence school at 7:00 p. m. All men in the community are invited to join the club. Jimmy Barnes, as hostess. The teenagers enjoyed games and dancing. Party refreshments were serv ed, after which Sandra was' pre sented many gifts. Leland Nelson Honored To celebrate his seventh birth day, Leland-Nelson was honored with a party Saturday afternoon at his home by his mother, Mrs. Bill Nelson. The guests enjoyed several games before the party refresh ments were served. Mrs. Tom Bryant and Louise, of Columbia, were out of town guests. Mrs. Bryant assisted Mrs. Nelson in entertaining. Bach guest presented Leland with a gift which he opened and passed. Surprise Party For Mother Mrs. J. H. Crowe was pleasant ly surprised Friday evening when a number of friends and rela tives gathered to honor her with a birthday party. Hostesses for the happy occas ion were her daughters, Mrs. Sa rah Jenkins, Mrs. Jerry Holland, and Mrs. Willie Cannon, who has just returned from Germany. After several games the host esses served a party plate with cold drinks. ; Mrs. Crowe was remembered with a number Of gifts. Little Boy Celebrate* 5th Birthday Saturday afternoon Mrs. Ros coe Bryan was hostess at a birth day party for her son, Julian, who celebrated his fifth birthday March 29. A large number of little folk were present to celebrate with Julian. The group enjoyed games and contests, after which they were invited into the dmmg room whefe the beautiful cake center ed the table. The cake was very lovly with green tinted coconut nests filled with tiny Easter eggs on top and around it. Ice cream, cookies, candy and nuts were served.
