Meeting ■ ^ - r A safety program was given for the February meeting of the Flor ida Street Parent Teachers Asso ciation held on Tuesday evening in the school auditorium. The president, B F. Wingard, presided and the meeting opened with prayer by Claude M Law- son. The minutes were read and the treasurer reported a balance ot S3T7.63. y ~ { Mrs. 1 O. The Daffodil Garden club of Laurens, is sponsoring a daffodil flower show on Saturday, March 23, from 3:3 to 9:30 p. m. in the Friendship Room of the Laurens Federal Savings and Loan build ing. Arrangement classes are open to the Laurens Council of Garden Club members only. Any amateur may exhibit in horticul ture, whether a member of a garden club or not. Mariy varie ties of daffodils are expected in the horticultural division as ex hibits. "It’s Spring" is the theme of the show. Rites Here Today For S. Paul Anderson Samuel Paul Anderson, died early yesterday mommg in a Co lumbia hospital following sev eral years of declining health. He is survived by his wife, who was before marriage Miss Ruth Elodse Bond, of this city; his mother, Mrs. W. Ray .Anderson; seven children, S. Paul, Jr., Fort Benning, Ga.; L. Charles, of Hon olulu^ Miss Ray Rhilson Ander son, a student at Winthrop; Mary William, Anne, and John Law Apderson, of this city; three brothers, John Law Anderson, of Wison, N. C.; William R. Ander son, of this city; and James L. Anderson, of Austin, Texas. His father was the late Rev. Ray An derson. f \ He was a graduate of Presby terian college and was a member of the First Baptist church in Laurens. , Funeral services will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at five o’clock at Gray Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. J. H. Darr, and the Rev. J. E. Rouse, of Lau rens. Interment will be in Rose- mont cemetery. Pallbearers will be R. P. Wil der, Buren Lown, A. Wilmot Shealy, D. S. Templeton, Burl E. Allen, and H. H. Providence PTA For Soles Tax Increase For Teachers Salaries The Providence School (Lydia) Parent-Teacher Association en dorsed the so-called Moore plan for increasing teachers’ salaries by the General Assembly at a meeting on Monday, Feb. 25. The resolution stated that,' if necessary, an increase in the three per cent sales tax is advo; cated in order to raise funds for the purpose. Copies of the resolution were mailed to members of the Lau rens County delegation in the General Assembly and to news papers. WITH THE SICK Patients at Hays Hospital in clude John B. Revival at Pentecostal Holiness Church There will be a revival at the First Pentecostal Holiness church March 11 through March 17. Ser vices will be conducted each eve ning at 7 o’clock. The Rev. Ros- coe Bryan, pastor of the Lydia Mill Pentecostal Holiness church, will be the invited speaker. Special singing will be featured in each of the services. The pas tor, George F.
