Lewis, ol Spartanburg, spent the week end in Columbia with their broth er, John Lindsay, and family, and with Mrs. Sloan’s son, Eugene Sloan, and family. Mrs. Jeanne McMaster Ford, of Winnsboro, will arrive today to spend the remainder of the week as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Mich ael Turner. J. M. Wham attended the American Road Builders Asscoia- tion Road Show which was held at the International Ampitheatre in Chicago last week. Mrs. Homer Todd visited her daughter, Mrs. Bob Sellers, and family in Taylors (last week Miss Mary Lois AyCrs, of Tay lors, a senior at Winthrop col lege, ife doing practice teaching,in the Home Economics department of Clinton high school for six weeks. Charlotte PC Alumni Plan Dinner Friday A Diamond Jubilee dinner, launching the Presbyterian col lege development program among alumni in the Charlotte region, will be held on Friday night. Approximately 150 PC alumni and friends from Charlotte and the 20 nearby towns included in thb region are expected to attend the occasion at the Hotel Barringer at 7:30 p. m. They will hear Dr John Mc- Sween, of Clinton, dynamic South ern Presbyterian minister and former president of Presbyterian college, deliver the mairi address as the highlight of a ' program which includes several colorful features. ; In addition to setting the spark to ' the Charlotte region alumni drive to raise $25,000 for Presby terian college, the dinner will serve as another occasion for cele brating the college’s 75th anni- versary. Active solicitations to reach the goal will begin the day after the dinner and continue for two weeks The campaign here is part of a broad program which already has produced subscriptions totaling more than $050,000 for PC from'its two controlling Syn ods of South Carolina and Geor gia. Dr. Marshall W. Brown, presi dent of Presbyterian college, will introduce the main speaker of the evening. Among the other features, of the program will be a technicolor mo tion picture entitled “It’s Your Presbyterian College,” selections by the PC double quartet and the cutting of a giant birthday cake bedecked with 75 candles.
