The nine weeks of "boot camp’’ included drill and instruction in seamanship, gunnery, life saving, sea survival, bbarhahdlihg, ancT the use of small arms. Following two weeks leave graduates report to shipboard du ties- or service schools, depend ing on the" qualifications each has demonstrated. The First Presbyterian church has announced a calendar o‘f its activities and services through the Christmas season. The calendar lists a number of special events to which the atten tion of its members is directed. The leaflet,' embodying a Christmas design on its front page, was mailed to members of the church during thepast week.
