children will remain here until
the latter part of July when they
will move to Fort Leavenworth,
Kansas.

daughter, Ann, formerly of John
son City, Tenn., are spending
several weeks with her mother,
Mrs. L. C. Duckett. At the end of
their visit they will join Mr.

are now residing here. They have
purchased the former Thayer
home on Stonewall street. Mr.
Simpson owns and operates a ser
vice station and grocery at the
junction of Musgrove street and
the Spartanburg highway.

Thomas are spending a month at
Camp Pinnacle, N. C.
Mrs. Lewis Pitts and son, Lew
is, Jr., were guests several days
last week of the former’s brother
and sister-in-law, Dr. and Mrs.

Truluck Is Delegate
To Lions International
Rembert S. Truluck is in Mi
ami, Fla., this week to attend the
International convention of Lions
clubs as delegate from the Clin
ton club.
He left Monday, and was ac
companied^ by Mrs. Truluck and
their son. Rev. Rembert Truluck,
Jr.
The convention got underway
Wednesday and will close Satur
day.
About 50,000 Lions from all
over^e world are expected at
the convention. From 150 to 17b
of Miami’s resort hotels have
been taken over to furnish ac
commodations for those attend
ing the meeting.
Truluck is the retiring secre
tary of the Clinton club and is
chairman of Zone 6.

Go To Ridgecrest
A group of young people from
the First Baptist church leaves
today to attend the second Sun-,
day school week at Ridgecrest,
N. C. About three thousand rep
resentatives from the Southern
Baptist convention territory will
be in attendance for the week
June 28-July 4
