CECIL O’DELL, Correspondent end Representative Mr. and Mrs. Sloan Rowland spent the week-end in Atlanta, Ga. Mrs. Rowland observed her birthday on Friday, June 22 and her first grandchild, little "‘Mis- sie” Weinberg, was born on this day. Mr and Mrs. Hoyte Nobles, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Nobles and daugh ter of Newberry, were Sunday visitors of Mrs. W. W. Hair and “•family. Friends of Mrs. J. T. Weaver will regret to learn she was called Lester Longshore joined the fam ily for dinner. Miss Annette Johnson of Clin ton, was the Friday overnight guest of Miss Betty Zane Long shore. Jimmy Templeton of Lando, spent several days the past week with Mrs. J. D. O’Dell. Little Reunion The Little reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A P Ramage at Truckers’ Inn Sat urday. The young lady has been nicknamed “Mls- sie.” Mrs. Weinberg will be re membered as Miss Juanita Row land, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sloan Rowland. Kennedy Mr. and Mrs. J W. Kennedy announce the birth of a son,, Wal lace Mitchell, at Joanna hospital In Sympathy The community was deeply saddened on Friday when news was received of .the death of “Granny” Barrett. “Granny” died at a rest home in Travelers Rest on Friday. The funeral was held at Jones Mortuary in Greenville on Saturday by her pastor, Rev. P. W. Turner and Rev. J. B. Mitchell. Those from Joanna at tending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Emory Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hair, Hack Prater, James Lovelace, Bill Boyd, Miss Mary Fuller, Mrs. Eunice Bragg. Enjoy Swimming Party Miss Toni Stroud and Miss Toni Ray of Clinton, were hostesses to a group of friends at a swimming party Tuesday night at Joanna swimming pool.
