Carter attended the South Carolina Dental Associa tion meeting in Spartanburg Monday and Tuesday. Mrs. W. W. Hair spent the week-end in Newberry with Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Nobles. On Sun day Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hair, Miss Ruth Hair and Wendell Hair, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Olga Hair and Nancy of Greenwood,^joined Mrs. Hair for the day. Turner and filled the pulpit of Epworth Methodist church on Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Lowman, Sr., Ann Lowman and Jeff O’Dell spent Sunday in Greenwood with Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Lowman, Jr. Misses Brenda O’Dell and Toni Stroud joined a group of friends for a slumber party at the home of Misses Toni and Sandra Ray in Clinton over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. C. R. May 1, from 7 until 9 o’clock in the so cial hall of the Joanna Baptist church, Miss Betty Ann Thomas, whose wedding will take place on June 2 at 8 o'clock to John C. Buchanan of Columbia, and Jo anna, was honored with a gift tee. Ladies of the church assisted in entertaining. Mr. and Mrs Lester Hair received the guests and Rev. and Mrs. James Mitchell introduced them to the receiving line composed of the bridal party, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Thomas and Mrs. D. J. Buchanan. Arrangements of iris and palm were used in the receiving room. Lighted tapers and floor baskets of spring: flowers were used at Vantage points in the social hall. Pink carnations and fern with lighted tapers adorned the tables where punch was dispensed. Misses Ethel Mae Rowe, Mar ian Surratt, Dianne Price and Eugenia Byars provided music throughout the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Dallas H. DeVinney pre- •catod a skit at the close of the evening.
