Also visiting Mrs. Ran tin on Sunday were her son, S. Y. Adair, Mrs. Adair, and sons, of Madison, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Math^son of Havelock, Ontario, Canada, were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Norris enroute home from Florida. Miss Cornelia Harris, member of the Sullivan-Dunklln chapter, D. A. R., is attending the Conti nental Congress in Washington, D. C., this week as page to Mrs. M. W. Corbett and sons were guests of friends in Rock Hill Sunday. Mrs. F. F. Hicks attneded the Scott-Pollard wedding at the First Presbyterina church in Spartan burg Saturday evening. She was accompanied for the week-end by Mrs. Robert Lawrence. Mr .and Mrs. Frahk Cauley and daughter, FYankie, were recent week-end guests of her sister, Mrs. Grady Adams and Mr. Ad ams in Camden. Miss Sunie Murphy has return ed to her home in Memphis, Tenn., after a visit with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Murphy. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Burnside spent the week-end in Savannah, Ga., with Mrs. Burnside’s par ents, Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Cul breath. Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Pinson were called to Albemarle, N. C., during the week because of the death of the latter’s nephew, John Harris. Mr. and Mrs. Elwyn Sturgeon and children of Florence, visited the former’s mother, Mrs. H. E. ville, spnet the week-end at her home here and attended the wed ding reception of Miss Jacquelyn Clarkson and and Ensign John Alvin Templeton of Greenville and Memphis, Tenn., at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Clarkson in Newber ry no Saturday. Mrs. John Harris, Mrs. S. G. Dillard, Mrs. W. W. Harris and Mrs. George W. Taylor attended the Charles B. Templeton revival mission held at the First Presby- ' terian church of Spartanburg on P Friday of the past week. The Rev Mr. Templeton is executive sec retary of the evangelistic commit tee, Presbyterian Church, U. S. A. Mrs. Henderson Pitts and Mrs. John McSween attended the South Carolina Garden club con vention in Greenville on Friday. Mrs. Ethel Pitts spent the week end in Columbia with her daugh ter, Mrs. Wayne Jarvis, and Mr. Jarvis. Mr. and Mrs. ^Alan Suddeth and small son have returned to their home in Bethesda, Md., after a visit with his mother, Mrs. B. H. Suddeth, and other relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Jacobs left Tuesday to spend several days in Atlanta, Ga., and in Summerville with their daughter, Mrs. John William King, and Mr. King. Mr. and Mrs. feric Barnes spent the week-end in Conway with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kohn Barnes and family. Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Thoma son, with Mr. and Mrs. Larry Swift of Des Moines, Iowa, who are visiting here, spent several days this week at Myrtle Beach. Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Mclnvaille spent the week-end in Rock Hill and Charlotte, N. C., and on Sat urday attended an open house at Furman Hall on the Winthrop campus where their daughter, Peggy, attends college. In Char lotte they visited their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mclnvaille. Mr. and Mrs. Wade M. Stone of Elizabethton, Tenn., were recent guests of Mrs. Stone’s sister, Mrs. W. L. Corbett, and Mr. Corbett. Friends of Bailey Dixon will be interested to know he is a patient at Passavant hospital, Chicago, where he underwent an operation for a hand injury which he re ceived some time ago. Mrs. Dix on and small son, Bailey, Jr., are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Wood, in Talladega, Ala.^ R. B. Simmons has returned to the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. B. Speake, after a several weeks visit with his daughter, Mrs. W. C. Adams, in Macon, Ga., and oth er relatives in Montrose. Mr. and Mrs. Rutledge Adair of Rock Hill, spent the week-end with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Henry. Friends of James Austin Chandler will be interested to know he is recuperating at the Georgia Baptist hospital, Atlanta, Ga., following an operation. His mother, Mrs. J. A- Chandler, and KarlJTohnson, Jr., spent the week end with him, Mrs. L. E. Cason, accompanied by Mrs. Diasy Turner of Atlan ta, Ga., is enjoying a tour of Geor gia and Florida this week. Friends of Mrs. Newton Jones will .regret to know her mother, Mrs. Henry Wing, of Atlanta, Ga., is ill and a patient at Emory Uni versity hospital. John B. Jordan, of Martinsville, Va., has joined his family here for a few days visit with Mrs. Jor dan’s parents, Col. and Mri. Rob ert E. Wysor, and will accompany them home the latter part of the Week. Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Sumerel and T. B. Sumerel visited Mr. and Mrs. F. Lee, Mr. and Mts. Mansel Sumerel in Spartanburg on Sun day. Mrs. James P. Sloan, Misses Florence Winn, Shirley Dunaway, Sara Pitts, and Elvin Floyd at tended the S- C. Scholastic Press association meeting in Anderson Thursday. Miss Margaret Bell is spending a few weeks in Staunton, Va. , Mr. and Mrs. Fuller L. Reese and son, Bob, were week-end guests of Mrs. Reese’s brother, T. W.
