Boozer, of Silverstreet, were guests Sunday of the former’s sister, Mrs. T. M. Sease and family. Tom Sease, a junior at Clemson, spent the week-end a thome. Dr. and Mrs. David Tribble and sons, Curt and Dave, of Winston- Salem, N. Cr, are spending the week with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Tribble. Miss Louise Tribble will return today to Emory University hospital. At lanta, where she is employed after a few days visit here with her pa rents. Also joining other members of the family here on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wills, of William- ston. Mrs. C. F. Winn joined her daughter, Miss Frances Winn, in Atlanta for the week-end and they were guests of her bother, J. K. Callaway. Mr. and Mrs. Don Wilder, of Rock Hill, visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Wilder here dur ing the week-end enroute to Au gusta, Ga., where they attended the Masters Golf tournament. Mrs. C. M. Bailey and Mrs. W. L. Marshall, Jr., will return today from Lynchburg, Va., where they accompanied Miss Eloise Marshall 4 who was returning to Sweet Briar to resume her studies. Friends of Mrs. Cora McQuis- ton will be glad to know she is convalescing at the home of, her daughter, Mrs. I. M. Adair, "after an illness and stay at Blalock clinic. Owens were in Spartanburg Friday and Saturday, to attend the South Carolina Bar Association meeting Mrs. W. M. Sims has returned to her home here after spending several weeks with her mother, Mrs. S. F. Rampey, who has been ill and a hospital patient m Greenville. She is now conva lescing at her ^torne in Piedmont. Adair and Mrs. George Gambrell have' returned from Lake Worth, Fla., where they joined their sister, Mrs. Sara McDonald, for the winter months. Mrs. Zeno Craddock and Mrs. E. T. Woodruff were week-end guests of their sister and^iece, Mrs. Joe Burst, in Thomasville, N. C. Dr. and Mrs. George C. Belling- rath visited their daughter, Mrs Wade Mobley, and Mr. Mobley in Red Springs, N C., during the spring holidays. Miss Emily DiHord Accepts Post With Churcn In Greenville Abbeville, April 2—The resig nation of Miss Emily Dillard, for the past five years director, of Christian education for the Abbe ville Presbyterian church, became effective yesterday. » Miss Dillard has accepted a sim ilar post at the First Presbyterian church in Greenville. She will as sume her duties there in the near future. • ’ ' —I ’ Miss Dillard came to .Abbeville from the Presbyterian church in Rogersville, Tenn., and prior to that was with the First Presbyte rian church in Union. She is a graduate of Winthrop college, and also has a Master’s degree in religious education from the General Assembly’s Training school in Richmond, Va. She is a natue of Clinton. The session of the local church accepted her resignation with re gret, and expressed the church’s appreciation for her work wittrthe church and the community. Miss Dillard is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Dillard of Clin ton. Jack Dunaway Ends Naval Boot Training Jack D. Dunaway, son pf Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Dunaway, of Clin ton, and husband of the former Miss Carol V. Russell, of Joanna, graduated from recruit training April at the Naval Training cen ter, Great Lakes, 111. The nine weeks of “boot camp” includes drill and instruction in seamanship gunnery, life saving, sea survival, boat handling, and the use of small arms. Following two weeks leave, grad uates are assigned to shipboard duties or service schools depend ing on the qualifications each has demonstrated. Father Clinton Resident Passes John A. Skinner, 87, retired farmer, died at his home, Wood ruff, Rt. 3, last Thursday follow ing a brief illness. Mr. Skinner was the father of Mrs. R.. P. Wil der of this city. In addition he fis survived by six sons and three other daughters. j I Mr. Skinner was the oldest member of the First Baptis* church where services were con ducted Friday afternoon with burial in Bethel cemetery. at Mountville white school, on Thursday, April 12, at 9 a. m. Bridges is announced today in The Chronicle’s candi date column for the State Senate from Laurens county. Bridges, a Laurens attorney, is a former member of the House of Representatives, having been elected in 1950 and 195G for the two terms, leading the ticket in 1952.
