Mrs. Tracy Dees will remain here for a few months. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Johnson, Miss Lethea Rhodes and Smoky Emory spent Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Odis Fuller in Union. Mrs. Betty Cauble and Sam Cauble, of Anderson, were over night guests of her daughter dur ing the holidays, Mrs. Bud Fuller and Mr. Fuller. Ray Fuller re turned to Anderson with them for the week. Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Dalton spent Christmas day with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dalton and W. M. Dalton in Calhoun Falls. On Monday Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Dalton and fam ily, of Orangeburg, and the Charles Daltons were dinner guests of the H. H. Daltons here. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Burdette and Herman visited their mothers, Mrs. C. R. Burdette and Mrs. E. S. Manning in Iva Christinas day. Mr. E_A. Wilson, of Columbus, Ga., visited his daughter, Mrs. Charles Harvey and children dur ing the hioidays. They with Mrs. Alma Harvey visited Mr. and Mrs. Luther Medlock in Joanna Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Wick, of Chester, were Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil McLendon. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Patterson, of Spartanburg, Virgil Hairston and Wayne, of Greenville, spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Hairston and Mrs Mary Pat terson. Miss Jan Harvey visited Miss Brenda Harris in Laurens during the week-end. Miss Harris visit ed Miss Harvey a few days this week. Mrs. Troy Powell has returned to her home in Cleveland, Ohio, after spending the past several months with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Jackson. Pvt. Doyle Emory, of Fort Lew is, Tacoma, Wash., is spending a fourteen-day leave with his pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Emory. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Johnson visited R. G. Johnson in the Greenville General hospital Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Boyce, of Columbia, and Mr. and Mrs. Char les Mclnvaille, of Aiken, visited Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Boyce Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Otis Huffstetler, of Newberry, visited Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Huffstetler Christmas. Later all went to the home of their pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Huff stetler In Newberry for the fam ily tree. A-3c Allen White, of the Uni versity of Syracuse, Syracuse, N. Y., is spending a ten-day leave with Mrs. White and sons. Mrs. Mark Ballard, Mrs. Ear line Estes and Mrs. Dotie Estes visited relatives in Woodruff Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Ithiel Harvey and daughters visited her mother, Mrs. L. S. Hall in Spartanburg Friday. Mr. and Mrs. B. P. Lark and Joe visited relatives in Easley, Piedmont and Hendersonville, N. C., during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Gilstrap, Jr., and Nathan visited relatives in Greenwood Saturday. On Sun day they visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilstrap, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. I. N. Fair in Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Boozer and son, of Hartsville, spent the holi days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Boozer. Christmas day they joined others of the Boozer family at the Joanna Inn for din ner. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Holland, of Allendale, spent Christmas with the latter’s mother, Mrs. J. H. Crowe. Patterson-Templeton Rites Miss Carol Jeanette Patterson, daughter otf J. B. Patterson and the late Mrs. Patterson, was mar ried to Charles Wayne Templeton, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Temple ton, Thursday, December 22, at the home of the officiating minis ter, Rev. Stanley Hardee, Jr. Mrs. Templeton wore a light blue suit with black accessories. After a wedding trip to Jackson ville, Fla., the young couple will reside with the bride’s father. Fennells Entertain The Fennell family gathered at the home' of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Fennell for dinner on Christmas day. Present were Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Parr and family, of Spar tanburg, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fennell and family, of Reidsville, N. C., Mr. .‘and Mrs. Dick Fennell, of Clin ton, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Fennell and Steve, of Lydia. Gifts were dis tributed from the tree. Harvey Family Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Harvey and their children were hosts to the Harvey family for supper and the Christmas tree on Christmas night. Enjoying the occasion were Mrs. Mattie Harvey, Mr. and Mrs. Ithiel. Harvey and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Shumate, Jr., and children, all of Lydia, and Mrs. Ella Harvey, of Clinton. Edward McAlister Edward McAlister, 80, died Sat urday night at the heme of his daughter, 229 Oak St., Lydia Mill, following a year of declining health. He was a native of Georgia, but had lived in Laurens county 35 years. He was a member of Lydia Mill Baptist church. He was married twice. His first marriage was - to Ella Brooks. By this union one soh and one daugh ter survive. They are S. T. Mc Alister, of Si* Mile, and Miss An na McAlister, of Greenville. His second marriage was to An nie Hunter. By this union three children survive. They are Mrs. Ina Lee McCarson, of Lydia Mill, Mrs. Lena Caldwell, otf Texas, and J. B. McAlister, of Clinton. Also surviving are two brothers, John McAlister, of Westminster, and Ben McAlister, of Georgia; one sis ter. Mrs. Luna Golden, of Spar tanburg. Funeral services were conduct ed Monday at 4 p. m. at the Lydia Mill Baptist church by the Rev. Stanley Hardee and the Rev. C. H. McCarson. Interment was in Calvary cemetery. The tax books are now' open at the office of the Town Clerk and Treas urer and will remain open up to and through Decem ber 31. A penalty of ten (10%) shall be added if said taxes are not paid on or before January 1» 1956.
