Miss (Nonna E. Hallett left Monday for a visit with friends and relatives in and around Ft; Wayne, Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. J. Bi Furyear, of Sumter, who were apending the holidays with the letter’s rela tives in Gray Court, visited friends here Sunday. Mrs. J. B. Speake, Miss Louise Speake and R. B. Simmons were guests of relatives in Macon, Ga., for the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. John son spent the holidays in Shreve port, La., with their daughter, Mrs. L. C. McCarthy and Captain McCarthy. Mrs. W. W. Harris and Miss Cornelia Harris spent the week end in Dillon with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Mitchell were in Greenville Monday to visit the former’s sister, Miss Lil Mitchell who is ill. j . _ Mrs. Zeno Craddock was in Au gusta, Ga., during the past week where she visited relatives and at tended a family gathering. Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. Felk- nor, Sr., returned to their home in Knoxville, Term., Monday after spending a* few days here with Mrs. PeHcnor, Jr., and Mrs. Frank E. Miller. Guests during the holidays of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Black were their children and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Butler Black and Butler, Jr., of Atlanta, Ga.; Mr. and Mrs. G. Arthur Black, Jean- nie, Nancy and Georgia, of Green ville; Mr. and Mrs. W. Alec Black, of Columbia; Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Martin and daughter, Mary, of Fountain Inn; Mrs. Mary B. Law ler and daughter, Mary Cecil, of Waynesboro. Va. Mrs. George W. Bell, of Charles ton, is spending several weeks with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mr*. G. W. Bell (Billy Falls, of Ashboro, N. C., spent the holidays with relatives here. Jimmy Bass is spending the week at Daytona Beach, Fla. Miss Violet Burgess, of Hous ton, Texas, is spending the holi days witjj her mother, Mrs. Joe Burgess. Mrs. Burgess also had as her guest during the week Miss Julia Schrone, of Charlotte. N. C. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Burts and daughter, Miss Billy Burts, were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Craddock in Laurens. Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Bauknight and daughter, Amelia, of Charles ton, Rev. and Mrs. W. Q. Grigg and son, Quay, Jr., of Mocksville, N. C., visited their mother, Mrs. Metta Stone during the holidays. Sam Stone, of Charleston, will ar rive today to spend several days with his mother. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Burts and Miss Billy Burts accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Madison Pitts, of Silverstreet, spent several days last week in Florence with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Watford, ' Jr. -(While there they were spend-the-day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Watford, Sr., in Darlington. Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Clement and children, Tommy and Kathy, of Charleston, spent the holidays with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Leake. Mrs. Alice Barrow of Newber ry, is visiting her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J Roy Gasque. Friends of Mrs. R. F. Blakely will regret to know she is very ill at her home. Lewis of Spartanburg, Mr. and Mrs. John Lindsay of Columbia, and Jack Lindsey of Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. L H. Ledford and Miss Ann Ledford of Au gusta, Ga., were guests during the holidays of their son and brother, Len H. Ledford, and Mrs. Ledford. Major and Mrs. W. S. Horne and son, Billy, of Fort Bragg, Fayetteville N. C., spent the week-end holidays with Mrs. Home’s mother, Mrs. P. B. Adair and other Relatives. Also here for Christmas day were Mrs, Adair’s ddtighter, Mrs. D. H. Reynolds, Jr., Mr. Reynolds, and son, DeLeon 3rd, of Washington, Ga. Mrs. O. O. Owens of Moultrie, Ga., is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Robert E. Wysor 3rd. A3c Jimmy Nichols is spend ing a two weeks leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Nich ols. Airman Nichols has com pleted basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas and will report at the end of his leave to Chanute Field, m. Mrs. David S. Cook and daugh ters have moved into the former J. B. Jordan home on Calvert avenue. Mr. and Mrs. Henry M. Young are spending several weeks in Bluffton with their daughter, Mrs. Romayne Hamilton, and Mr. Hamilton. Ml- and Mrs. Roy Gasque and family were guests of relatives in Walhalla during the holidays. Celia Gasque remained for a several days stay with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. George Gasque. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Gault and children are occupying their recently completed home on ^Im street. Rev. and Mrs. J. E. Merchant were in Bamberg Tuesday where the former officiated at the wed ding of his niece, Mias Nancy Mrechant and Lynwood Brun son. Mr. and Mrs. P. S.
