On Monday night Elaine and Melvin attended the Junior Laugenesse Christmas dinner party at the Commercial hotel followed by a dance at the Fer- malta club in Aiken. Mrs. P. L. Attaway of Whit mire, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. J. L. Abrams and Mr. Ab rams while Mr. Attaway is a pa tient for surgery at Columbia hospital. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Gettys Attaway and chil dren of Greenville, joined the family for Christmas dinner. In the aiternoon the family visited Mr. Attaway in Columbia. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. Farmer of Kinards, was admitted to the local hospital on Monday for treatment. Hurrah-Brown Rites Rev. and Mrs. W. B. -Murrah of Joanna, announce the marriage of their daughter, Willie Mae, to Thomas Hayne Brown of Clin ton. The ceremony was perform ed by the Rev. Ben F. Jones at the Pentecostal Holiness church at 12 o’clock noon on Dec. 23. The* church was decorated in the traditional green and white with arrangements of white gladioli used a vantage points. For her wedding the bride chose a winter suit of aqua with white accessories. She carried a white Bible topped with white carnations. The bride’s father gave her in marriage. The maid of honor and only attendant of the bride waa Jean ette Davenport, who was attired in a red suit with white accear accessories. The groom had for his bast man Donald Jackson of Laurens. Ushers were Charlie Brown, brother of the groomh, and John Franklin of Clinton. The wedding music was pre sented by Miss Rachel Morgan, pianist, and Miss Judy Simmons, soloist. v After the wedding the bride and groom were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Murrah. Later in the afternoon the couple left* for a wedding trip to Miami, Fla. Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Brown, Paul Jim my and Patsy Brown, Jerry Bo land, all of Clinton; Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Brown of Greenville; Mr. end Mrs. Rayon Mitchell of New berry; and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Gregory of Whitmire.
