Sease in Prosperity on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schlier <and daughter are occupying their recently completed home on Elm street Mrs. P. B. Adair has returned from a several weeks visit with her daughter, Mrs. W. S. Home Home, in Fayetteville, N. C. Mrs. Home and son, Billy accompan ied her home for the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Cassano va, their daughter and son. Miss Madeline Cassanova of Colum bia, were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Jacks and Mrs. M. Cassanova, who accom panied them home for a few days. Mrs. Herbert Lindsay and in fant son returned early this week, from General hospital, Green ville, to their home on Cedar street. Miss Mary Dell Stewart of Greer, joined her sister, Miss Janie Stewart, of the Thomwell staff, here on Saturday and they spent the day in Columbia. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Holland were guests over the week-end of Mr. and Mrs. James T. Smith and sons in Columbia. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Williams, formerly of Woodruff, are now occupying one of the Hays apart ments on Woodrow street. Mrs. Williams is manager of the Lew is store here. Mrs. lAmard Bishop has *c- cepted a position in the office of Hallmark Manufacturing Corp. Miss Hazel Boland of Green ville, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Boland. Mr. and Mrs. John Sease and little daughter, Mary Murl, of Columbia, visited the former's mother, Mrs. T. M. Sease, a few days the past week. Mr. and Mrs. James Jacks have moved into their recently com pleted home near here. Mrs. Zeno Craddock spent the week-end in Hampton with her daughter, Mrs. Steady Mixon, and Mr. Mixon and attended the wedding of her granddaughter, Miss Faye Mixon on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. John W. Sanders and children, Patricia and Wes, of Halifax, Va, visited Mrs. San ders’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Singley, the past week. Dr. and Mrs. David Mixon and children are now occupying a residence on Young Drive.' Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Work man have returned from a ten- day trip to St. Louis, Mo., where they were guests of friends. En- route they also visited friends in Madisonville, Ky. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Bunker moved the past week into their recently completed home on South Holland street. Friends of Lt. John Watts Da- vsi will be interested to know he left last week for duty with the 14th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Germany. Iff left New York by plane on Sunday for Ger many. Formerly he was station ed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Mrs Davis and* son. Tommy, are spending several months with her mother, Mrs. T. M. Sease, be fore they join him in Gemtany. Joe H. Little of Abbeville, vis ited his sister, Mrs. Morgan Todd, several days last week. Mrs. Flora Rainey was the guest last week of relatives and friends in York. Mrs. Joe Eason has returned to her home in Piedmont, Ala., after a visit here with her daugh-, ter, Mrs. Pringle Copeland, Jr., and Mr. Copeland and other rela tives in Whitmire. Mrs. R. E. Sadler spent sev eral days last week in Easley with her sisters, Mrs. Ben Martin and Mrs. W. M. Scott. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Owens and daughters, Charlotte, Nancy and Elizabeth, of Knoxville, Tenn.. were recent visitors of the for mer’s mother, Mrs. William Bail ey Owens. Dr. and Mrs. S. C. Hays and Mrs. C. W. Stone left Tuesday for a visit with their niece and daughter, Mrs. H. E. Denzler, and Mr. Denzler in New Orleans, La. Mrs. Stone plans to remain for the holiday season. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wilkes, Jr., and son, Harry 3rd, of Co lumbia, spent the week-end with the former’s parents. Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Quin ton Chapman will be interested to know they have moved to Charleston where the former is connected with the United States Department of Agriculture. They formerly lived in Chatham, N. J. J. R. Horton of Chatham, N. J., •pent the past week-end with his mother, Mrs. R. S. Horton, and other relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. John Allen Du gan, formerly of Darlington, have returned to Clinton to make their home and are resid ing in the Bishop house on Wal nut street. Mr. Dugan is con nected with Jacobs Brothers. Mrs. Leila N. Johnson spent the week-end with her sister, Mrs. Napoleon Hill and Dr. Hill in Greenville. Mrs. W. Roy Pitts returned yes terday from a two weeks stay in Charleston with her daughter, Mrs. Robert Grube and Dr. Grube. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Plaxico visit ed the former’s mother. Mrs. J. E. Plaxico in Gaffney on Sunday. Friend^ of Dr. and Mrs. John W. Harris wiil be interested to know they were able to return to their home earlier in the week. Mrs. rr 11- t Harris has been a patient at Hays hospital and Dr. Harris in a hos pital in Columbia suffering in juries received in an accident Their daughter, Mrs. Bill Byrum, of Spartanburg, and Mrs. Harris' sister, Miss Agnes Moss, of Spar tanburg, are with them. Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Nance left yesterday -to spend several weeks in DeLand, Fla. Mrs. George A. Anderson at tended the golden wedding anni versary otf her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Ballard, of Fayetteville, West Va.. on Tuesday, December 6. Mrs. Anderson is the wife of George A. Anderson, acting dean of Presbyterian college. Mrs. Paul T. Wood has returned from a visit with her son. Dr. Paul A. Wood, and family in Charles ton. Friends of Dr. John W. Steven son will be glad to know he was able to return to his classroom at Presbyterian college yesterday aft er a several days illness. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ellis and family, of Columbia, Dr. and Mrs. Fred Ellis and family, of Chapel Hill, visited relatives here for the week-end. They came especially for the celebration of the golden wedding anniversary of their pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Dixon Ellis. R. L Plaxico, Sam McCrary and Edgar B. Norton will return to morrow from a several days fish ing trip to Stuart, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Tribble and daughter, Miss Louise Tribble, were guests of relatives in Blacks burg on Sunday. They were joined there by Dr. and Mrs. David Trib ble and children, of Winston- Salem, N. C. Dr. and Mrs. James- L. Walker were in Columbia Friday eve ning to attend the “Caine Mutiny Court Martial.” Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Keller. Jr., of Cameron, spent Sunday here with their son-in-law and daugh ter, Mr. and Mrs. Yates Smith. Mr. and Mrs. James A. Poole of Dunn, N. C„ visited his sister, Mrs. W. R. Brown, and other relatives here during the week end. Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Austin had as their guests Sunday Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Martin, Mr. and Mrs Bill Martin and children of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Austin and children of Cross Hill; Mr. and Mrs W. B. Austin and children of Spartanburg. Mh and Mrs. Everette Carson of Gastonia, N. C., were here on Thursday of the past week for the funeral of the latter’s aunt, Mrs. J. W. Milam. Mr. and Mrs. Chesley Abrams and daughter, Verna Mae, of Newberry, visited their sister, Mrs. Jobe Neighbors on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Brice Quinn and Miss Lillian Quinn were recent guests of their sister, Mrs. Blake ly Tribble, and Mr. Tribble. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold West- bury, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Myers of Charleston, were guests on Sunday of Mrs. Westbury’s brother, G. W. Bell, and Mrs. Bell. Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Quinn of Charlotte, N. C, were week-end guests of the former’s sister, Mrs. Blakely Tribble, and Mr Tribble. Mrs. Willis Clayton leaves to day to return to her home in Ral eigh, N. C., after a visit with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Prnigle Cope land. Mr. and Mrs. Yates Smith are occupying an apartment in the home of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Donnan’s third grade at Academy Street school were safety-minded last week, when they made a study of safe bicycle riding practices while their eld ers were safety-conscious in ob serving S-O day. The class was divided into ten groups, and each child illustrated his safety rule which had been as signed. The best poster from each group was chosen by vote and put on the bulletin board. Bicycle Safety Roles 1. Ride alone—never two. 2. Ride on the right side—next to curb. 3. Stop on red light. Go on green. 4. If there is no traffic light, look both ways—first to left-then right. 5. Give a signal when you stop or turn a comer. 6. Don’t be a ‘show-off.” Keep hands on handle bars and feet on pedals. 7. Have a head 'and tail light. 8. Never ride on sidewalks. People walk there. 9.
