A. Blakley with two tables in play. The tables were appointed for refreshments and when the guests assembled a sweet course was enjoyed. Colorful autumn flowers made a pretty back ground for the games. High and second score awards went to Mrs. Frank Cauley and Mrs. James C. Marshall, a club visitor. Family Dinner At Jacobs Home Thursday evening at five o’clock Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Jacobs enter tained members of the latter’s family with a Thanksgiving din ner. Covers were laid for forty guests which indkuded the children, grandchildren and great-grand children of Mrs. George A. Cope land, Mrs. Jacobs’ mother. Mr. and Mrs. John William King and children, of Summer ville, Ga., were .out-of-town guests for the occasion. Julie Bolick Honors Visitor Honoring Becky Ellis of Dil lon, who was visiting here dur ing the Thanksgiving holidays, Julie Bolick entertained a num ber of boys and girls with a card party on Friday evening at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julian S. Bolick. Five tables were arranged for canasta and a number of games were enjoyed. Later cold drinks, assorted sandwiches and dainties were served. Prizes were won by Linda Milam, Georgia Young and Becky. 7. November Meeting Sara Glenn Circle The November meeting of the Sara Glenn circle of Broad Street Methodist church was held with Miss Rose Lee at the home of Mrs. George W. Bailey on Monday evening of the past week. Miss Elizabeth Copeland was co-hoe tess. Mrs. W. L Corbett, program ~hairman, introduced Mrs. George A. Anderson who brought an in spiring message on thankfulness and how we can best express our thankfulness to God. The chairman, Mrs. Forrest Adair, presided over a business session. Later a social hour was enjoyed and the hostesses served fruit cake, tea and nuts. Friends Invited To Golden Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Mr. and Mrs. Dixon Ellis \yill be honored by their children on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 4, with an informal drop-in at their home on East Walnut street in observance of their Golden Wed ding Anniversary. Beautifully decorating the home were colorful dried and fruit ar rangements made by members of the club for the occasion. After a business session, Mrs. T. C. Johnson gave a most inter esting and informative talk on air laying and grafting of plants. La ter the hostesses served salad and sweet courses. Joint Hostesses For Bible Class The regular monthly meeting of the Ladies Bible class of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian church was held at the church Monday evening wiht Mrs. Nol- on Carter and Mrs. R. L. Plaxi- co, Jr., as hostesses. Several articles centering around the theme, “Pre-Christ mas Thoughts”, were discussed by Mrs. R. L. Plaxico. During a social hour following the program fruit hake, nuts and coffee were served. Family Dinner For Mr. and Mrs. Loftis On 'ntanksglving day Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Loftis were given a tur key dinner by their children. A three course dinner was serv ed with a background of fall flow ers and potted plants. (Here for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Victor Bowman and chil dren, of Warner Rabbins, Ga.; Mr. and Mrs. Bill McMurray and three children, of Swannanoe, N. C.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Loftis and sons, of Marietta, Ga.; also Miss Nannette Loftis, of the home. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Loftis re mained for a longer visit. A Thanksgiving theme was at tractively carried out in tallies, ta ble appointments and decorations. Roses, van-colored mums, aut umn leaves and a cornucopia fill ed with fruits were arranged in the card room. Mrs. Jack Blakely won visitors high score award and Mrs. W. L. Corbett chib high. LINDSAY Rev. and Mrs. Arthur M. Lind say announce the birth of a son, John Duncan, on Tuesday, No vember 29, at Greenville General hospital.
