Hie people prosper as they obey; then they forget God in their prosperity, and He punishes them. They suffer and in penitence cry out for forgivenss; then He forgives and blesses them again. One tiling must not be forgotten, God is very near in every cy cle; just as near when He punishes, and people suffer, as when He bleuMu. and the nation prospers. No more striking statement of that belief can be found than the words of the pealmist caning God to remembrance when he awakes in the middle of the night We wake up in the night and sometimes cannot quickly go to sleep. What do we think about in the lonely night watches? Is it not wonderful to have God so close to us that we naturally turn to Him in our thoughts and meditate upon His greatness and love for us? PRAYER O God, Our Father, Thou art near us at all times, but Thou dost soom far sway. Load us to such of Thoo as will make us iwmrs of Thy always, srsn in those night hours when we are sleepless. Piedmont Regional Case-Finding Meet In Laurens Thursday The Piedmont Regional Case- Finding Conference met at the Health Center in Laurens last Thursday. The conference held two ses sions in the Health Center audi torium, one from 10:00 a. m. to 12:00 noon, and the other from 2:00 to 4:00 p. m. Dr. John M. Preston of Columbia, health of ficer of Richland county, presid ed. Dr. Preston is chairman of the South Carolina Case-Finding committee. Several speakers were on the program and dealt with such topics as established clinics, mass survey x-raying aid the estab lishment of routine x-rays of all persons admitted to general hos pitals. The Minnesota slides on tuberculin testing will also be shown during the meeting, shU said. Doctors and lay people from all over the Piedmont attended.
