S. post office de partment, WilMam D. Adair, Clinton postmaster announced Friday. The new system became effec tive October 1. Under the new set-up the pur chaser fills out the money order itself rather than an application. This is intended to speed up the entire process by doing away with the application altogether. A new and longer money order is now used which is perforated along two lines. The purchaser keeps one stub, the post office another, which it files, and the check itself is mailed to the re cipient. Purchasers are cautioned ‘to preserve their receipt, for if it is lost there is no way to trace the money order, Mr. Adair said. There is no record of the sender or the receiver, thus tracing is impossible unless the sender has a record of the num ber of his order. Under this system the postal clerk merely fills in the amount of the order and collects the senders’ money. The purchaser fills in the destination and mails the order.
