Pitts Miss Leonell Mood Timmer man became the bride of Clar tnce David Pitts of Silverstreet in a lovely ceremony taking place at the home of her uncle and aunt, Dr. and Mrs. Felder Smith in Laurens at 8:30 Satur day evening. The Rev. J. E. Merchant, pastor of the bride, officiated using the double ring ceremony. The vows were spoken in front of the unmirroretL mantel with tapering candles on each side. White chrysanthemums with magnolia foliage completed the wedding setting. A program of nuptial music was presented by Mrs. J. B. O’Dell of Laurens, pianist, and Miss Phyllis O’Dell, of Laurens, vocalist. Piano selections in cluded “Meditation” (Morrison), and other traditional wedding selections. The fitted bodice was fashioned with a sweetheart neckline out lined with scallops of lace nad long sleeves ending in points at the wrists. Her fingertip veil was attached to a cap of chantilly lace and irridescents. She car ried a prayer book on which lay a white orchid. As a sentimental touch the bride wore an heir loom bracelet of tiny filigree gold hearts which was the wedding gift of her paternal grandfather. Dr. E. Mood Smith, to his bride, Mrs. Minnie Felder Smith. The bride’s maid of honor, Miss Barbara Burts, wore a pink taf feta ballerina length dress and carried a nosegay of pink asters. Little Jane Timmerman, niece of the bride, was flower girl and carried a basket of sweetheart roses. William P. Senn of Silver- street, was best man for the groom. Usher-groomsmen were E. Murphey Timmerman, broth er of the bride, and Madison Pitts, of Silverstreet, brother of the groom. Mrs. R. D. Nance, mother of the bride, was gowned in blue lace with which she wore white asters. Mrs Joe Milton Pitts, mother of the groom, wore wine lace with white carnations. Following the ceremony a re ception was given for the wed ding guests. For traveling the bride chang ed to a black Shagbark suit with white gloves, white feather hat, black suede shoes and bag. After September 24 the couple will be at home at Silverstreet. Mrs. Pitts is the daughter of Mrs. Robert Drayton Nance and the late Eugene Murphey Tim merman of this city. She attend ed Clinton high school and Mon treat College. Mr. Pitts, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Milton Pitts of Silver- street, received his education in the Siverstreet high school. He is an employee of the Colonial Store in Newberry. 'Die 1965 death toll now stands at 548. This is 72 more than for the same period last year. Chief Highway Commissioner Claude R. McMillian said that the only way South Carolinians are going to improve their safety rec ord is to first improve their driv ing record. “It’s no secret that the cause of traffic accidents is traffic violations.
