Word To Be Pastor Bethel Baptist Church Laurens, Sept. 9 — The Rev Kenneth E. Word, pastor of Beth el Baptist church near Maddens, has submitted his resignation to accept a call to Hillcrest Baptist church here. His resignation is to take effect Sept. 11, and he will begin his new pastorate on Sept. 25. Mr. Word, a native of Laurens, is now a ministerial student at Presbyterian college and expects to pursue his ministerial studies later at one of the Southern Bap tist seminaries. I. M. J., ac cording to the American Guern sey Cattle club. This richly bred young bull is out of the high-producing cow, Ideal’s Gardenius Pearlette, that has two production records of 14,448 pounds of milk and 718 pounds of fat, made on three times daily milking for 365 days as a junior two-year-old and met calving requirements, and 21,- 139 pounds of milk and 1,114 pounds of fat, mode on three times daily milking for 365 days as a senior three-year-old. He is sired by Ideal’s Lettie’s Duke. Traffic Deaths Increase In July There were 78 deaths, 936 in juries and 2,453 accidents on our highways during July, 1955, as compared to 48 deaths, - 752 injur ies, and 2.003 accidents in July, 1954. Laurens county had 6 deaths, 12 injuries and 32 accidents dur ing July.
