C., spent the week end With the former’s mother, Mrs. F. M. Stutts. Mr. and Mrs. John H. Hunter, Hub Hunter and Mrs. Myrtle Hun ter were fuesta of Dr. and Mrs. C. W. Brice in Chester. Mrs. Noland Parker and daugh ters, Emily and Anne, of Aiken, were guests of Mrs. Parker's moth er, Mrs. John D. Davis over the week-end. Mrs. J. Lee Young, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Young and children, Jim mie and Sophie attended the Er win family reunion at Lowrys on Sunday. Mrs. Eugene Avery and daugh ter, Agnes Caroline, of Rock Hill, who spent last week with Mis. Avery’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ixtoy HSpp, were Joined by Mr. Avery on Sunday and accompanied him home. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Balle, of Philadelphia, Pa., are visiting Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Pinson an route heme from a vacation stay in the Virgin Islands and in Florida. Guests of the Pinsons tomorrow also will be Mrs. George Balle, and Miss Mary Balle, of Laurens, Jack Balle and children, of Dal las, Texas. ^ Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Smith and son, Phil, spent Sunday in Elber- ton, Ga., with the former's moth er and sister, Mrs. G. E. SJmlth and Mias Mary Erwin Smith. Mr. and Mrs. £. L. Holland spent several days last week in Al lendale with Mr. and Mrs.- J. R. Holland. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin L. Shook and daughter, Pamella, have gone to Easley to make their home where Mr. Shook will be football coach. Bill Henry who has been on a two weeks assignment with the Aerial Spraying Service in Mis sissippi, is spending several days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Henry en route to the coastal area for another assign ment. Mrs. L. B. Powers and sons, Jerry and Charles, of Richmond, Va., were recent visitors of Mm. Powers’ sister, Mrs. J. E. Merchant and the Rev. Mr. Merchant. They were accompanied to Richmond by her mother, Mrs. M. J. Gatlin for a visit. Also recent guests of the Merchants were their son and daughter-in-tarw, the Rev. and Mrs. J. A. Merchant and children, Dell and Carol of Greenville. Clifford EMtins 3rd who has been spending two weeks with his grandmother, Mrs. John Davis, left Sunday by plane for his home in Stewart, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Holland were guests of relatives in* Greenville on Sunday. Mrs. John W. Boyd will leave this week-end to go to Atlanta where she will join her sister, Mrs. O. H. Harris for a visit with their brother, John Simpson and family at Long Beach and also Mrs. Boyd's son, Tommy, who is In in naval service. Mrs. W. L. Corbett and sons are spending the week in Johnson City, Tern., with relatives. Bunky Blalock, Gil Huguley and Johnny Johnson will return Sun day from a month’s stay at Camp Pinnacle near Hendersonville, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Jones, of Blacksburg, spent Sunday with their daughter, Mrs. Milford Smith and Mr. Sndth. Little Gail Smith accompanied them home for a week’s visit. Mrs. John W. Lee, Sr. College Trustees To Meet Tuesdoy The board of trustees of Pres byterian college will assemble on the campus next Tuesday for a special meeting relative to the im mediate future development of the coUege. Board members ait this time will formulate plans for a large con vocation this fall and for the launching of a long-range develop ment program. The PC trustees are composed of representatives named by the oontrolling Synods of Georgia and South Carolina. Mrs. Lucille Collins and son. Thayer, of the Presbyterian college faculty, left for New York City this week to start in the Garden City Work Shop at Columbia university for three weeks, after which he plana to spend some time in Pennsyl vania. Mrs. Thayer and son, Robert, wiU leave tomorrow to visit rela tives and friends in Pennsylvania. The Thayers plan to return about the middle of September.
