Attertfion Teen-Ape Club AnnouAcement was made Tuesday by Ralph McCazkfll that members of the Teen-Age club and invited guests would have a picnic at Curry’s Lake Friday, July 1. The group will meet at the club house at 2 o’clock and will leeve by Foundation bus at ■2:30. Each member please bring a picnic lunch tor you and your invited guest. Supper wjH be served at the lake. Sonrts On Trip Seventeen Boy Scouts of Jo anna and Scoutmaster Julian Hunnicutt left Sunday morning tor Camp Old Indian for the an nual summer training. The group went in the scout truck and win break camp at noon Saturday, July 2, arriving back in Joanna late Saturday afternoon. Teen-Age Bell The Barefoot Ball of the Teen- Age club held at Joanna club last Friday night was well at tended. As you entered, you checked your shoes and many of the young folk wore bells and bows on their toes. Refreshments of punch and coikes were served. The assembly room was at tractively decorated in showers of paper streamers with red and yellow predominating. Out of town guests were Bliss Rosanne Little of Myrtle Beach and Miss Biartha Ann McComb of Orangeburg and Winthrop, who served as chaperone. Ralph MoCaskill of Clinton is the di rector of the teen-age group. Hava Ceremony The Brownies Troop 79 held an investiture ceremony at Jo anna club Sautrday afternoon at 3 o’clock. The guests were wel comed by the Brownie leader, Mrs. Lester Longshore. After giving the Baownie promise Brownie pins were awarded to Robbie Lewis, Amelia Stroud, Vivian Welchel, Paulette Rowe, Ellen Finney, Andy Stroud and Jackie Oswalt. The requirements tor a Pendant was being a Brownie tor 1 year and those re ceiving Pendants were Barbara Brawley, Margaret Rose Niver, Vfcki Boyd, Shirley Morgan, Marilyn Sease, Melinda Stroud and Betty Stroud. Numbers to wear on the Brownie uniform were presented to Shirley Morgan, Margaret Rose Niver, Melinda Stroud, Amelia Stroud, Betty Stroud, Sharon Knight, Vfcki Boyd, El len Finney,' and Paulette Rowe. Brownies to receive various awards but were absent were Judy Tempelton, Tricia Carter, Ann Smith and Marilyn Sease. Brownies earning free tickets to the Broadway Theatre in Clin ton for selling poppies on Poppy Day were Barbara Brawley, Shirley Morgan, Margaret Rose Niver, Amelia Stroud, Melinda Stroud and Vivian Welchel. All Brownies received their registration cards. The group formed a circle and sang the Girl Scout song. The refreshment table was centered with an arrangement of light pink gladioli interspersed with pine and flanked on either side with a crystal punch bowl and crystal tray with cookies. Mimi Saunders was a pa tient for treatment at Joanna hospital several days last week. James Kennedy, Jr., son of Mr. and Blrs. J. W. Kennedy, was admitted to Joanna hospital on June 23 and was transferred to Greenville General hospital on the same day. Little Bliss Cherry Boyce of Aiken, underwent a tnosilectomy at Joanna hospital on June 24. Mrs. Joan Sloan of Clinton, was discharged June 26 follow ing treatment for several days at Joanna hospital. Friends of Mrs. Mattie Hunni cutt will regret to learn she is a patient at the local hospital tor treatment. Blrs. Hunnicutt was admitted on June 25. Tom Fuit was treated at Jo anna hospital on June 26. Blrs. Judy Etters of Clinton, is a patient for treatment at Jo anna hosptial. Edward Kennedy, son of Mr. and Blrs. J. W. The Bible was given in memory of the son and brother, John Junior Gaskin.
