His wife and daughter are expected to arrive the latter part of the week from Cuba. Miss Barbara Sharp!on was the week-end guest of her sister, Mrs. Calvin Miller and Mr. Miller in Gastonia, N. C. Mrs. George Fleming and son are spending the week with C. T. Fleming and family in Belton, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Malone in Ware Shoals. Visiting Teacher Makes Yearns Report The report of the visiting teach er, Mrs. Marguerite F. Patterson for the school year, 1964-56 for Laurens, county has been submit ted to the office of superintendent of education. Attendance showed an increase over the previous year. The report follows: Enrollment 1663-64: White 545, Negro 3,508. Total 10,143. Average attendance 1963-54: White 86 per cent, Negro 76 per cent.- Total 8C per cent. Sat urday evening followed by regis tration. " Scouts At Camp The Lydia Boy Scouts troop 90 left by bus Sunday for a week’s camping at Camp Old Indian. Scouts attending with their scout master, George Fleming are:. Sunday was the opening day of the camping season so troop 90 was present for the dedication of the new mess hall and for the flag raising. The flag raised was presented to the camp by Rep. Ralph H. Roberts and Rep. Robert T. Ash more. The flag was the one flown over the United States Capitol May 4. Little Girl Has Party Mrs. Billy Sherfield was hos tess for a party honoring her small daughter, Dianne, on her third birthday. There was twenty-three little folk present to help make this a happy occasion. After play ing games, refreshments of ice cream, cookies and candy were served. Dianne received many gifts from the guests. Receives Discharge Junior Thomas, S. H. S. N., is now at the home of his mother, Mrs. Emmie Thomas after receiv ing his discharge from the U. S. navy.
