Circles April Meetings The afternoon circles of hie Woman’s Missionary Society at the Associate Reformed Presby terian church met on Monday with Mrs. George Bryson as program leader. The topic for ‘■Christian Literature” and sev eral members contributed ar ticles from the Synodical Jour nal. Later the hostess, Mrs. H. A. Copeland, served ice cream, cookies and Easter candies. Circle No. 2 met in the evening at the home of Mrs. K. Nolan Carter. Mrs. R. L. Plaxico, Jr, had arranged the program with the following taking part: Mrs. Earl Rice, Mrs. Ernest Hitt, Mrs. Marion Nabors, and Mrs. L. M. Wilson. Mrs. C. B. Betts, Mrs. Nabors, Mrs. Plaxico, Jn, and Mrs. Car ter were chosen delegates to at tend the Preebyterial meeting in Spartanburg April 14. ARP Bible Class March Meeting The March meeting of the Ladies Bible class of the Asso ciate Reformed Presbyterian church was held on Monday eve ning, the 28th, at the home of Mrs. John T. Young with Mrs. A. B. Blakely as joint hostess. Continuing the study on Par ables Miss Margaret Blakely gave the study on “The Good Samaritan.” Following the program and business session a salad course, cookies and Russian tea were served. end of the table. Workman entertained with a seated tea at the Pitts Home. The living room was lovely with apple blossoms, daCfodils, iris and pansies. The tea table in the din ing room was appointed In yellow and white with an arrangement of spirea and roses. A salad course, sandwiches, decorated cakes and other dainties were served buffet. Garden Club With Mrs. Adams The Garden Club Council met Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. W. W. Adams. It was asked that each garden dub president call members in their clubs to get their opinion about holding or canceling the flower show. Mrs. Adams stated that Clinton was being encuorag- ad as a bird sanctuary and ap propriate signs had been placed on the highways. The council agreed to sponsor “Holdiay Homes” and also to hold general meetings in December and March. He is a representative a of the Agricultural of the U. S. Government sta-| tioned in New York. He hes re cently returned from a six months assignment in the Nether lands. Goldsmith en tertained members of her card dub with a dessert bridge. Several seasonal arrangements made an attractive setting for the two tables appointed for re freshments. Later a number of progressions were made with prizes going to Mrs. D. S. Tem pleton and Mrs. Lewis Wallace. Mrs. Anderson Is W. C. T. U. Hostess The Clinton chapter, Woman’s Christian Temperance Union met on Tuesday afternoon with Mrs. Ray Anderson. Mrs. Clarence R. Thayer was welcomed as a new member. Mrs. Irene Todd gave the devo tional ort ‘•Stewardship” and Mrs. Thayer discussed “Moral Educa tion.” Later a social hour and refresh ments were enjoyed. Luncheon Given For Executive Board On Monday, Mrs. Francis Bla lock, president of the Women-of- the-Church of the First Presbyter ian church entertained members of the executive board with a luncheon at her home. Dr. W. R. Turner, pastor, and Mrs. Turner, were also guests for the occasion. Luncheon was served buffet .from the dining table prettily ap pointed with red gladioli.
