Two tables were appointed for refreshments in a yuletide setting featuring holly and tall tapers. Prizes were won by Mrs. A. B. Stump and Mrs. W. Y. Thompson. Blue Birds Are Given Party Mrs. William Johnson and Mrs. Harry Baldwin entertained the Cheerful Blue Bird group on Tuesday afternoon with a Christ mas party at the Scout house. The girls enjoyed games and gifts were presented from the Christmas tree. Later refresh ments were served. Mrs. Robert F. Black and Mrs. W. G. King, Jr., are leaders of the group. Roof-Wilson Rites Tuesday Of interest to friends and rela tives here is the marriage of Miss Carolyn Ann Roof, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Haskell Roof of Ly dia and Boyce Lamar Wilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Lamar Wilson of this city which was solemnized Tuesday, December 14, at the home of the Rev. J. ’.W Spillers. The bride was becoming attir ed in winter blue with black ac cessories and a corsage of tiny dark red rosebuds. After a short wedding trip they wil make their home at the pres ent with the groom’s parents on Sloan street. Lakeside Mrs. Ben fifty Linda Smith Has Birthday Party Friday afternoon Linda Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. How ard Smith, entertained twenty- two little friends in celebration of her third birthday. Balloons, party horns and hats were given the little folk as fa vors. During the afternoon the gioup gathered around the birth day cake, decorated in pink and white, to sing "Happy Birthday.” Individual cakes and ice cream were served by Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Chris Adair, Jr. Mrs. Lukstat Is Bridge Club Hostess Members of the Thursday club met last week at the home at Mrs. Henry M. Lukstat Two tables were arranged for the games in a holiday setting featuring red gladioli and mod. crnistic Christmas designs Bright berries and greens were used in a brass container for the mantel. Mrs. Francis Blalock won club Dinner Party Given At Club Friday evening at Country club, Mr. and Hammett entertained about guests with a dinner party. Holly with other greens and berries decorated the livii^ room where the hostess served fruit juice and appetizers before invit ing the guests to the buffet table in the dining room. The table overlaid with a white'cloth was adorned with cedar, red berries and Christinas ornaments which were flanked by tall white tapers in silver holders. The small ta bles with bright covers were cen tered with red and white tapers and holly. Mrs. James Milam, of Laurens, was an out-of-town guest. Mrs J. P- Rowland Is Club Hostess Mrs. Jasper P. Rowland was hostess to her bridge club on Thursday for a number of after noon games. Holiday greens and berries ef fected a seasonal setting for the two tables. A large white candle with white magnolia was used in arrangement in the living room. Top honors for the games went to Mrs. Jack Red, a club visitor. Later the hostess served salad and dessert courses. To-Ma-Noh Camp Fires Have Party The To-Ma-<Nah Camp Fire girls held their Christmas party Mon day afternoon in the Camp Fire room of Florida Street school. This group of sixth grade girls who chose their name meaning “Merry Hearted Friends" is lead by Mrs. Hubert Boyd and Mrs. Roy Cas que. Betty Jo Buford is president and Linda Rhodes is secretary and treasurer. At this meeting a new member, Phyllis Sublett, was wel comed. Carols were sung and contests were enjoyed. Gifts were exchang ed and each girl brought clothing for the underprivileged. Refreshments of "snow men,” cup cakes, ice cream and candies were served from the tables dec orated in the Christmas motif. Bridge Party For Friends, Club On Wednesday afternoon of the Lovely Dinner Party Given Saturday Evening Mr. and Mrs. Margin G. Gault, Jr., entertained on Saturday eve ning with a bridge dinner. In the receiving rooms of the home red gladioli, carnations, magnolia leaves and berries were complimented by large candles in arrangement for tables and man tels. Dinner was served buffet from the dining table centered with a cake decorated in the Christmas motif and encircled with berries and greenery.
