A. Martin in Chesney. Pvt. Richard Dunnaway of Ft. Benning, Ga., spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Dunnaway. Wilkie, who has been vis iting his mother, Mrs. Missouri Wilkie left Wednesday for San Diego, Calif., where he is stationed with the Navy. Birthday Party A birthday party was given in honor of little Melane Snelgrove, Auxiliary Meeta The Women’s Auxiliary of Pen tecostal church met October 11th with Mrs. H. W. Simmons on N. Broad street. The meeting was called to order by president, Mrs. J. A. Williams. Instead of the usual program Bible games were played. Mrs. Murphy, Mrs. Lawson and Mrs. Creswell were the active ones in the'games. Mrs. Simmons served a salad course with tea. f With the Sick Little Opal Barker has been ill at her home. Steve Crow is ill. Mrs. Hubert Leopard is improv-; ing after an illness- at Blalock clinic. ' G. A Meeting Held The G. A. meeting convened at the home of Ailene Smith on Bailey street. The meeting was called to order by the vice-presi dent, Janice Braswell. Songs were led by Nita Bras well. Lois Lever had charge of the program. Games were played and refreshments served. Mrs. Thomas Smith and Marie Smith were host esses to the girls. B. T. U. Enjoys Suppor The adult Training Union of Calvary Baptist church enjoyed a chicken stew in the social hall of the church Friday evening. The Brotherhood quartet gave several selections. Games under the direction of Mrs. Ralph Stew art and Hall King and group singing were features of the eve ning’s entertainment W. M. S. Meats The Woman’s Missionary Sn- cieyt of Calvary Baptist church held its regular monthly meet ing Monday evening at the \ church with the president Mrs. Alvin Trammell, presiding. An Pag*Sr— interesting program was given by Mrs. Vernon Trammell and sev eral members, using as a subject, ‘Make Straight A Highway for Our God.” The program arms closed with prayer by Mrs. Grady Smith. During the business . session several matters were discussed, after which the meeting was ad journed to the social hall where refreshments and fellowship were enjoyed. MRS FLOYD GILBERT Leaders Meeting Held The leaders of Camp Fire of Petago district met Thursday evening, October 14, at the Com munity building. Plans were made for the next few months which include a workshop to be conducted on November 17 by Miss Sidall, field representative, of New York^ . This work is expanding and parents are invited to cooperate with the leaders in having their daughters attend the meetings legularly.
