Roy Fuller returned to Anderson with them for a week’s visit. Mr. and Mrs. Bo Brown and daughters, Mrs. Ross Morns~and Mrs. Laura Darby, attended the funeral of Mrs. IjAamie Wickqr at Little Mountain on Monday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Williams and Guy Parrish, Sr., visited re cently with Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Parrish, Jr., in Aiken, They were accompanied home by Mrs. Par rish, Sr., and Miss Betty Lou who had been visiting the G. C., Jr’s. Mrs. Clara Clark and Mrs. Lo- rene Hogue and daughter, of La fayette, Ga., and. Mrs. Ernest Clark and Billy, of Huntsville, Ala., spent several days the past week with the former's daughter, Mrs. Ralph Doran and Mr. Doran. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Corley and children were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rhoden in Greenwood Sue vacationed at Myrtle Beach the past week. Mrs. Stanley Hardee, Jr., and Roger spent a few days last week with relatives in Conway. Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Stidham and family, of Edgefield, were Sun day visitors of Rev. and Mrs. James Bryan. Mrs. David Roberts and daugh ters, Misses Barbara and Kay were visitors with relatives in Lancas ter and Fort Mill for a few days last week. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Fuller with Mrs. Ruby Harper, of Green- w'ood were in Durham, N. C., dur ing the week-end. Friends will be interested to learn that the doctors at Duke reported Mrs. Fuller’s condition is some improved. Mr. and Mrs. F. L Thornburg and Mr. Paul Thornburg left last Wednesday for Washington, D. C., to be with their son and brother, Lee, who underwent surgery at Walter Reed hospital. Mrs. Thorn burg remained for a while with him. Tkwday, Aajnwt 26, 1954 during ball nractice Thursday. Mrs. H. H. Dalton is improving after a few days 'stay at Blalock clinic for treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Neal, of Lau rens, are at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Neal while the former Mr. Neal recuperated following an operation illness and Mrs. Neal a broken ankle. Mrs. James Wells is recuperat ing at her home following an op eration at Hays hospital the past week. Lee Thornburg underwent sur gery at the Walter Reed hospital in Washington, D. Todd observ ed their 47th wedding anniversary August 18. Horison Girls Visit Beach The Horizon Girls of the Camp Fire organization visited at Ocean Drive Beach this week-end. The group of 18 also visited Myrtle Beach. The leaders were: Mrs. lone Wallace, Mrs. Dorothy Gaff ney, Mrs., Trannie Boozer, Mrs. Eva Templeton, Mrs. Cora Wind sor and Ott Thomas. Camp Fire Granp Meets The Aowakiya group of Camp Fire Girls met at the community center Tuesday afternoon. Faye Bailey, president, presided. After the business meeting, the group continued the craft project they have been working on in design ing textile painting, using the po tato method. Attractive holeroes are being made. During this week each girl is learning the art of cake making. Mrs. Wallace is guardian of the group. Presbyterian Revival Services Revival services are now in progress at the Lydia Presbyterian church and will continue through Sunday evening, August 29, Rev. Archie Davis, pastor of the Second Presbyterian church at Union, is the guest preacher. The public is cordially invited to the services each evening. Woman's Club Meeting The Lydia Woman’s club met August 19 lor their regular month ly meeting with Mrs. Floyd Poole, president, presiding. Mrs Cecil [McLendon gave the devotional, followed by the Lord’s Prayer by the group. During the business session plans were discussed and a com mittee appointed for the Septem ber meeting which will be open house at the schoolhouse. Mrs. Charles Gaffney introduc ed Mrs. Etta Cashw-ell,’of Clinton, who gave an interesting demon stration of the salad master, mak ing a salad which was served with crackers and tea to the members. ♦ Mrs. Carroll Hostess Mrs. Lindy Barlowe was feted at a party Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Edward Carroll. A number of invited guests were present to enjoy games and con tests together. Later in the evening Mrs. Carroll, assisted by her co hostess, Mrs. Wade Pennington and Mrs. Ike Jones, served refresh ments to the group. Mrs. Barlowe was remembered with many lovely and useful gifts. Dinner Party Enjoyed Friday evening Mr.. and Mrs. Chesley King were host and hos tess at a dinner party honoring the former’s brother and sister-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter King and family, of Nashville, Tenn.
