Tucker, died sud denly last Thursday mooing at her home here . Mrs. Tucker was a native oi Georgia, but had made her home here for the past 31 years. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist church in Georgia. Surviving are three sons, John and Raymond Tucker, both of Clinton, and Leo CL Tucker, Tal lahassee, Fla.; five daughters. Mrs/ Susie Banks, Lydia Mill; Mrs. Janie Dees and Mrs. Julia Hamby, both of Laurens; and Mrs. Eloise Lambert and Mrs. Lorie Belden, both of Clinton; three brothers, Thomas, Ray mond and Benjamin Newbem, all of Tifton, Ga.; three sisters, Mrs. Jacob Clements, Mrs. Avia Taylor and Mrs. Matilda King, all of Douglas, Ga.; 31 grand children and 16 great-grandchil dren. Funeral services were con ducted Saturday at the Church of God on Elizabeth Street by the Rev C.'W. Barnes, the Rev. R. H. Cause and the Rev. Mr. Byars. Burial followed in Rose* mont cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons. Loftis and daughter, Nannette, left yesterday for Cor nelia, Ga., where they will visit Mr. and Mrs. Victor Bowman and children for a few days. Harry Whitaker, of Orangeburg, wae a guest over the week-end of Mr. and Mrs. Reese H. Young. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Barnes spent Sunday in Augusta, Ga., as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Carrak- er. Mrs. Ed Sadler, accompanied by her mother, Mrs. L. S. McMillan, of Laurens, and a group of Laur ens friends are vacationing this week at Crescent Beach. Dr. and Mrs. M. A. Winn, of Stet son University, returned Tuesday to DeLand, Fla., after a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carlton F. Winn. Callaway in Atlanta, Ga. A. O’Daniel has returned from a several days visit in Spartan burg with his son, Dr. George O’Daniel and family. Mrs. C. W. Hallman and daugh ter, Kitty Lu, accompanied Mr. Hallman to Fort Hood, Texas, this week. E. F. Anderson spent several days this week in Greenville with Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Brockman. Miss Frances O’Deniel, mesriber of the Salisbury, N. C., schools faculty, who is spending the sum mer at her home here, and Mrs. Eugene McGrew, of Cemden, who has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Miss Agatha Bailey, member of the Chester schools faculty, is at home for the summer. Misa Mary Ella Bailey, who teaches in Greenwood, is in Greenville with her mother, Mrs. T. L. W Bailey, who is convalescing at the General hospital following an operation illness. Mrs. Rosa Cole who has been making her home with her daughter in Utica, N. Y., will be interested to know she has re turned to the city and is residing at 207 E Florida street. Mrs. Edwin Famell and chil dren are spending several weeks at Ocean Drive Beach. Mr. Par nell joined them there for the week-end. Edwin Treadwell, son-in-law of Mrs. Hipp, reviv ed his dagree, doctor of veter inary medicine? Dr. and Mrs Treadwell plan to move to Wil mington, N. C., in the near fu ture where Dr. Treadwell will establish practice. Phyllis Barry of Augusta, Ga., is visiting her aunt, Mrs. W. T. Baker, and Mr. Baker. Friends of Mrs. M. D. Milam, Sr., will regret to know she is ill at her home. Mrs. Olin Sheely, Jr., accom panied by her mother, Mrs. Mary Owens, of Greenwood, will leave tomorrow for a several weeks visit with their sister and daugh ter, Mrs. C. L. Edwards will regret to know she suffered a broken arm injury in a fall last week. Miss Genie Marshall of Rock Hill, was the guest several days last week of Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Wilder and family. Friends of Donnie Wilder will be interested to know he left this week for Moorehead City, N. €., where he has accepted a po sition as sports editor of the Cat- aret County News-Times. Mr. and Mrs. Henderson Pitts attended the annual convention of the S. C.-N. C. Cotton Seed Crushers at the Ocean Forest hotel. Myrtle Beach, last week.
