Young of Clinton is using part of his cost-sharing pay ments through the local AASC office in establishing five acres of coastal bermuda grass. He was busy last week in getting the land prepared, limed and ready for planting on the delivery ■ of the stolons this week. He plans to use the district’s automatic planter for this job. Mr. Young is one of the original cooperators of the distriot and has done an outstanding job in ap plying a complete soil and water conservation program, based on the land capability map, to more than 2,500 accres of land in his farms. He not only believes in conserving soil and water but also in conserving and protecting wildlife. He has established several miles of wildlife borders of bicolor and sericea lespedeza, as well as some 8 or 10 individual patches of bicolor. He has more than a mile of multiflora rose established for a living fence, and wildlife food and protection. State Home Demonstration announce sRe brith of a son- on opens a three-day engagement in the Spartanburg Memorial Audi-. torium April 1. “South Pacific” is playing engagements this spring in Memphis, Houston, New Orleans, Columbia, Atlanta and Montgomery as well as Spartanburg. Most cities have week-long engagements of the touring company. This is the only company in America now staging the Rodg ers and Hammerstein musical. Mc Millan of the Highway Depart ment shows. Posting of security in the form of cash bond, surety bond, or mo tor vehicle liability insurance is required by the Safety Responsi bility law if a person is involved in an accident injuring or killing any person or resulting in total property damage of $50 or more. Failure to report accident* brought suspensions of 2,882 driv er’s licenses last year.
