Sweetheart Party Friday night in the recreation rooms of Providence school, the Teen-Age Canteen held its ‘‘Sweetheart Party’’. The rooms were beautiful in a color scheme of red and jvhite. Valentine Party A Valentine party was held on Tuesday night of/ last week for the young peop]^ of the Lydia ess es for the evening, a group of Presbyterian Church, with 35 Others from the Long Branch covered the entire room The refreshment table was laid with a white cloth decorated with red hearts, a huge red heart on one end of the .table was outlined in a double row of small red cin namon candy hearts and the oth er end held the punch bowl. Re- freshmehts of red lemonade and cookies were served by the host- young people present to enjoy the games and contests. Hot chocolate and cookies were served to the group by the leaders, Mrs. Eugene Johnson and Mrs. Jim Bailey. With The Sick Friends are happy to see Mrs. Walter Cato is able to be out some after a long illness. Angela Birchmore is improv ing after an illness. The rooms were decorated in a red and white color theme and the boxes were all in a Valentine , decoration of red and white. The refreshment table was cen tered with a lovely arrangement of white chrysanthemums in the form of a nosegay with ' large chenile red hearts on either side. Several games were played and Bingo prizes were won by Shir ley Poston, Joyce Estes, Carol Frazier and Marthq Ann Puck ett. ‘ Lydia Ta«n-Aga Canteen Entertains Kiwanis Club The Teen-Age Canteen of the j Lydia community entertained j the Kiwanis club at Hotel Mary Musgrove Thursday night at its regular meeting. A program of dancing was given. A group of girls in Scotch costumes danced a Highland Schottische, a group of twenty-four boys and girls did a Kinderpolka, and a group danced a Boston Square and ended the program with the members of the club joining in for the Hokey-Pokey. The danc ers included forty-nine boys and girls of the canteen under the direction of Mrs. lone Wallace, assisted by Mrs. B. B. Ballard, Burl Allen and George Fleming.
