Hartley, manager of the local bus station, requested permis sion for cab services in the city to keep one cab stationed at Hotel. Clinton (site of the bus station) 24 hors a day for convenience of bus patrons. After discussion, the re quest was dqnied. Council gave authority for renew al of outstanding notes in the 1-2 amount of $30,000. Approval was given for the pur chase of new equipment and sup plies for the water and light depart ment in the amount of $1,200. Mayor Terry urged citizens who have requests for repairs to streets, sidewalks and private premises by gas installation crews, to get ~ih touch with him directly, since rep- resehtatives of the gas contractors will be in the city next week. Receipts for December (largest of any month in th^ year) were given as $94,865.46, and disbursements, $60,554.80. It was noted that the city retired bonds in the amount of $17,000, paid $6,120 interest on bonds, and allo cated $1,000 to the sinking fund during the month. Collection of about $900 in back taxes was reported, bringing to ap proximately $4,000 collected in re cent months.
