Mr. Roberts joined them in Lancas ter for the week-end. Whitmire-White On Sunday afternoon, Nov. 22, Miss Barbara Whitmire became the bride of Alan W. White, Jr, at the home of the officiating minister, Rev. T. A. Woolbright, pastor of the Cross Hill Baptist church. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Whitmire and a senior at Clinton high school where she will continue her studies. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. W. S. C. S. Christmas Meeting The Woman’s Society of Christian Service of the Lydia Methodist' church will meet with Mrs. Mark Windsor, 75 Palmetto street, Tues-1 day evening, at 7:30. This will be the annual Christmas party and gifts will be exchanged as usual. All members are asked to be pres ent. Foreign Missions Program The Woman’s Missionary. Society of th^ Lydia Baptist church is ob serving the Foreign Mission Week, of Prayer this week. There will be a meeting each night through Fri-j day at the church. The women of the church are urged to attend all or part of these special prayer j meetings. The Lottie Moon offering will be taken at the end of the week. ^ ^ Methodist Ground Breaking Sunday Ground breaking ceremonies for Lydia Methodist church will be held on the church lot on Pine street Sunday afternoon at 4 p. m. The Rev. E. K Garrison, pastor of Broad Street Methodist church of this city will bring the message. All people who are interested in the church are invited to attend. Weiner Roast Enjoyed On Monday evening the Interme diate group of the Training Union enjoyed a weiner roast at Miner,*! Springs. Mrs. B. F. Harvey is lead er of the group and she with Mr. Harvey and E. C. Burdette were chaperones. After refreshments the group enjoyed an hour of skat- ing. ^ With The Sick Mrs. Homer Fuller is ill at her home. H. H Dalton is ill at his home. Glad to report Earline Austin was able to return to her home from Hays hospital Monday. S. Walter Prather Passes Funeral services for S. Walter Prather, who died at Hobbysville i Saturday, were conducted Monday afternoon at the Lydia Baptist church by the Rev. Stanley Hardee, Jr., and Rev. Robert Edwards.) Burial followed in Rosemont cem , ‘- i tery. Mr. Prather was a former resi-1 dent of this community. He was' the father of Mrs. Rex Harris of this community and Macon Prather of Clinton. Birthdays and Anniversaries Sue Word will celebrate her 7th birthday December 6. T. O. Williams will observe his b.rthday December 4. Mrs. Hudson Davis will celebrate her birthday December 6. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Windsor are observing their 32nd wedding anni versary today. Katherine Whitmore celebrated a birthday December 1. Buddy Abercrombie will be thret years old December 4.
