Layton Fraser. Roses with other fall flowers and greenery adorned the living room of the hostess’ home. An informal hour, games and contests were en joyed, after which a hot course was served. Music Club Meets With Mrs. Young The Music club met Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Reese Young. Chrysanthemums, mixed with other fall flowers, were used for decoration. Mrs. Ed Sadler had charge of the program and gave the story of the opera, “II Trovatore,” using several records as illustrations. Lee chapter, United Daugh ters of the Confederacy, was held on Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. R. E. Jones. Assisting host esses were Mrs. W, C. Baldwin, Mrs. J. H. Stone, Mrs. W. J Duncan, Mrs. Nene D. Workman, and Mrs. J. W. Milam. The Cross of Military Service, given by the U. D. C., was bestowed on Mrs. Jones by Mrs. Nene D. Workman, for her son, Lt. Robert E. Jones, Jr., who lost his life in service of his country during World War II. Mrs. Frank Miller conducted a memorial service for Mrs. Sallie Adair Pitts, a charter member of the chapter, who passed away in October 1952. The eulogy was read by Mrs. Workman. Announcement was made that the chapter won the 1953 blue ribbon for contributing 100 per cent to the “Memorial Building to the Women of the Confederacy at Richmond, Virginia.” During the social hour sandwich es, cookies, pound cake, cheese bis cuits and spiced tea were served.
