Adair of Chillum, Md., is visiting her daughters, Mrs. Irby Holland and Mrs. G. C. Nabors ol Joanna. She was accompanied by her son-in-laiw, Walter Stewart, also of Chillum, who returned home after a week-end visit. Lt. Henry Burton of Ft. Benning, Ca., spent the week-end^ with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Burton. Mrs. June C. Pitts has returned to her home in Washington, D. C., after spending several weeks with Mrs. Irene Pitts and other relatives here and in Marieta, Ga. Miss Mar- tharene Pitts of Greej^was the guest Sunday of her mother, Mrs. Pitts. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bethea of Winston-Salem, N. C., were guests several days this week of Mrs. J in Charleston. Mrs. N. W. McDaniel is visiting W. Hardin and children were also' visitors in Greenville during the j week. Philip Pruitt, member of the fac ulty at Alexander Schools, Union Mills, N. Mr. Byrd is a jun ior at Presbyterian college and they are from Norwood, N. C. They are residing in the home of Mrs. J. Will Dillard on Cleveland street. Mrs. A. W. Norville of El Paso, Texas, will arrive today for a few days visit with Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Moore. and Miss Mary Ann O’Shields, ail of this community. Her second marriage was to Mil ford H. Wright, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Milford H. Wright, Jr., and Wayman Cole Wright, and one daughter, Miss ity. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afVrnoon at the Church of God on Elizabeth street by the Rev. C. W. Barnes and the Rev. J. B. Cole. Interment followed in Rosemont cemetery. Ladson DuBose, son of Mrs. Crawford DuBose, has returned to Charleston where he is a student at, the Medical College of South Caro lina, which opens its session today.! V. S. Harwell, Jr., left this week to enter service at Fort Benning, Ga. A recent graduate of Wofford college, he will serve as an infantry lieutenant. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. McCall ofi Florence, will be guests of Dr. and Mrs. Marshall W. Brown tomorrow and attend the Alabama State; Teachers College-PC football game. Miss Patsy Maddonald, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. M. A. Macdonald, left Sunday to attend the University of Georgia, Athens, where she will be a member of the freshman class. C. D. H. Von Hollen, Mrs. J. R. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. James Von Hollen were guests Sun- Mrs. L. O’Shields Wright Pi Mrs. Lizzie O’Shields Wright, wife of Milford H. Wright, died suddenly last Tnesday night at Hays hospital. She was a native of Anderson coun ty, but had made her home here most of her life. She was a member of the Church of God. She was twice married. Her first marriage was to Norman O’Shields. From this union two sons and three daughters survive.
