Wilkes, has recently com pleted a ten weeks course at the National .Guard Officer Candidate school at Fort Riley, Kansas. Grad uation exercises were held there last week and Mr. Wilkes will receive his commission and be attached to a unit at a later date. Mr. Wilkes was one of 12 South Carolina men selected for the training. Mrs. Wilkes and son visited rela tives in Colorado and accompanied him home last week. They spent a few days here with his parents be fore returning to Columbia where he will resume his position at Fort Jackson from whicn he was granted a leave of absence. , Kiwanians Sell Circus Tickets Officials of the Kiwanis club state that a house to house canvass will be made by members to sell tickets lor the circus which the club is sponsoring here September 19.
