L. Knight of Fountain Inn, visited Mills, Wednesday, May 6, at 3:00 o’clock. The ceremony was per formed by the Rev. Robert H. Beck- ley, chaplain, at the base. The chapel was beautifully dec orated with white gladioli, snaps and palms. The vows were spoken before an arch. James Galloher of Lexington, Ky., and Keesler Field, was best man. Miss Mary Russell of St. Peters- was maid of honor and the bride’s only attendant. She was dressed in her army dress uniform. For her wedding the bride wore a street length dress of white ny lon over blue taffeta, with match ing accessories. She carried a white prayer book topped with - a purple-throated orchid, and white satin ribbons. The couple received in the ves Mr. and Mrs. William F. Bagwell Sunday. C- Burdette, af ter accompanying some of the scouts to Camp Old Indian, motored to Balfour, N. C., to visit his broth er-in-law, and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Elmore Revis. Mr. and Mrs. Claud Parrish were visitors of relatives in Clover Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Pace and chil dren were visitors in, Greenwood Sunday. IVfr. and Mrs. Paul Glenn and Keith of Greenville, and Mlrs. J. H. Seay of Clinton, visited Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell Monday. Keith remained for a week’s visit with the Trammells. Mrs. Gregg Rowe and son, of Belton, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Miller end family of Greenville, and Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Martin of Laurens, were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Sharp ton Sunday. Mhrs. Lidie Howard of York, is spending awhile with her daugh ter, Mrs. Paul McCauley. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Martin and family were guests of relatives in wedding trip for which the bride changed to a navy silk shantung suit with navy and white access ories. L. Thornburg enroute to Rome, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Todd spent Sunday with their son and daugh ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Spurgeon Todd, in Columbia. Mr. and Mrs. James Wells and sons spent Sunday with the for mer’s grandmother, Mrs. Henrietta Manlz-Tumblin Mr. and Mrs. Jim Dean have re ceived news of the marriage of their son, Marvin Tumblin, or “Jun ior,” as he is known here, to Miss Barbara Mantz of Long Beach, Cal. The marriage was performed May 10 in Las Vegas, Nevada. With The Sick Mrs. Rachel Moseley has been ill several days, but is improving. John Motte is home and im proving after several days stay in Hays hospital. PYiends are sorry to know Mrs. Eva Dell Fuller remains a patient at the Anderson hospital. Circles Meet The Omathine Dabbs circle of the Lydia Baptist church Woman’s Missionary Society will meet to night with Mrs. Joe Davenport on Peachtree street. Circle No. 2 will also meet to night with Mrs. Ralph Harbin. Both meetings are at T:30. Circle No. 3 met with Mrs. Clyde Trammell Wednesday at 1 o’clock. Vacation Bible School To Begin Vacation Bible school will begin at the Lydia Baptist church Mon day afternoon, June 15, and run through June 26, from 5 to 7 p. m. Miss Mary Johnson will be prin cipal of the school. Miss Peggy Sat terfield, pianist, and Mrs. B. F. Harvey, general secretary. The superintendents are: Mrs. Ralph Harbin, Intermediates; Mrs. Clyde Trammell, Juniors; Mrs. R. E. Whit mire, and Mrs. Will Ellis, Primar ies; Mk*. Charles Gaffney, Begin ners. There will also be a number of men and women working in the various-' departments with the su perintendents.' On Saturday afternoon, June 13, at 5 o’clock, all the children who are planning to attend the school are asked to meet at the church for a parade through the community, after which they will return to the church for registration. Parents are asked to enlist their children in the school.
