Mliss Patricia Davenport spent the week-end in Greenville with her sister, Mrs. Bill Shealy and Mr. Shealy. Mk. and Mrs. Robert Cox apd small son of Spartaribvfrg, visited the latter’s brother-in-law and sis ter, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Snider, re cently. Mrs. Fred Patterson and children of near Mountville, spent a few days the past week with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Claud Willard. Friends are sorry to hear that 1 Miss Geraldine Hudson of Spar-: tanburg, who was killed in an; airplane crash in Texas Sunday, I is a cousin of David Roberts. The; Roberts family visited her parents,! Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hudson, Mon-j day. Mrs. J. E. Coker and children! and Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hawkins visited the former’s mother, Mrs. W. Q. Norris, in Greenville on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Crawford vis ited the former’s- father,, S. B. Crawford, in Williamston Sunday, i Those attending the Boy Scout Court of Honor in Joanna Monday night from Troop 90 were: Richard Martin, Delano Wilson, Jimmy Ov erstreet, Henry Overstreet, Richard Corley ; George Cato, Jackie Elders, Gary Sprouse, and Jimmy Thomp son. They were ^accompanied by J. B. Abercrombie, scoutmaster, and Clyde Trammell. Mrs. Natalie Stroud and daugh ter, Cathy, of Michigan, were .week-end guests of Miss Mary El- len Bodie. On Sunday .Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bodie and Miss Bodie ac companied Miss Stroud to Chester. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Todd of Coro- naca, and Mk. and Mrs. Roy Bur nett of Laurens, visited Mr. nad Mrs. S. J. Todd during the week end. Mr. and Mrs. George Fleming and son, Ray, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Malone, in Ware Shoals. ^ ' Mr. and Mrs. Cecil McLendon and Cecilia were visitors of the former's father, H. €r McLendon, in Columbia Sunday. They also vis ited the Iris gardens at Swan lake in Sumter. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Boozer of Hartsville, spent Sunday with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Boozer. Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Meeks and, Betty Jean motored to Washington, Ga., during the week-end. Mrs. Gus Harris of Clinton, spent Friday with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Poole and; children were visitors in Gastonia, N C-, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Claud Willard andi daughters visited the former’s j brother, Grover Willard, at Self: Memorial hospital in Greenwood j Sunday. He underwent an opera tion Monday morning and Mr. Wil lard visited him again Monday af-| ternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Shealy andj Phyllis of Greenville, and Mr. and; Mrs. Bobby Boyce and Barry of Spartanburg, visited* their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Davenport Sun day. ^ Visiting Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Dal ton Sunday were the following: Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Dalton and fam ily and Rev. Moates of Newberry; G. R. Puckett of Whitmire; Mrs. Miriam Kennedy of Laurens; and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Dalton and family of West Clinton. Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Ostrachovsky have returned to their home at Long Island N. Y., after spending the past month with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Todd and her sister, Mrs. Ruby Harper in Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Smith and son of Greenwood, and Boyd Stroud of Whitmire, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Stroud Sun day. Among those attending gradua tion exercises at Holmes Bible col lege in Greenville Monday night were the following of Lydia: Rev. ancF Mrs. R; R. Patrick, Mrs.~Bruce Bagwell, Mrs. Marlon, Mrs. G. C. Bishop and Miss Jesse Crepps. To Have Outing The Adult Training Union of the Baptist church will have a weiner roast Saturday evening at the Mary JjOu Ranch. Those who will attend are asked to be at the church by G:30 Saturday afternoon. Birthday Dinner On Sunday Mrs J. E. Coker was honored with a birthday dinner at her home. A bountiful dinner was served to Mr. and Mrs. Coker and children, Mrs. Addie B. Coleman, Mr. and Mks. Mason Coleman and children, % Mrs. J. W. Hawkins and children and Willie Arrowood. Mrs. Coker was. remembered with many gifts on this happy occasion. Baptist Class Meeting The TEL class meeting will be held Tuesday, evening, May.. 26, at the home of Mrs. J. B. Abercrom bie, 258 Elm st. All members are urged to be present. New mem bers are also welcome. Bluebirds Go Oif Hike The Wa-Has-Ka group of Blue Birds enjoyed a hike and picnic lunch Mbnday afternoon. There were 8 girls with their leader, Mrs. J. B. Templeton, and the assistant leader, Mrs. Jim Bailey, who en joyed the outing. With The Sick Richard Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Brown, of neai 1 Clinton, is seriously ill at his home. Mrs. Hugh Ballard is confined to her home due to illness. Mrs. Minnie Nelson has returned to her home near here after being a patient at Hays hospital. Mrs. Grover Jackson, who has been receiving treatment at Green- ville General hospital, returned to her home Tuesday. j Woman's Club Meets Tonight The Lydia Woman’s club will meet tonight at 7:30. An interest ing program has been planned by the program committee. All mem bers are asked to be present. All ladies of the community are invited! to attend. Royal Ambassadors Meet The RA chapter of Lydia Baptist church will meet at the' church at I 7:30. All boys of the ages 9-16 are [ invited to join.
