Hughes will return tomor- tow from Atlanta where he has l>een attending a sales clinic for ^employees of the H. W. Lay Co. Mrs. Hughes and daughter, Caro line, are spending the week in Hon- ea Path with her parents, Mr. and Mirs. C. A. Reeves. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Thomas of Belmont, N. C, spent Sunday with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ray Thomas. Mrs. W. W. Blackwell of Flor ence, spent last week with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. 'William Blackwell. Mrs. George H. Ellis is visiting her daughter, Mrs. M. A. Durant, l*left yesterday for a week’s stay in and the Rev. Mr. Durant in Mari anna, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Rock and chil dren, formerly of Columbia, are now residing on Shands street. Mr. Rock is connected with the Clinton Paper Box Co. H. L. Eichelberger is attending the Top Club convention of the New York Life Insurance company sister, Mrs. Robert E. Wysor, and Col. Wysor. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Lea have re turned to .their home in Rocky Mount, N. C., after a few days vis it with the latter’s mother, Mrs. C. M. Bailey. While here they at tended the golf tournanfent in Au gusta, Ga. The following members of the Stephen D. Lee Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, at tended the Piedmont district meet ing in Greenville last Thursday: Mrs. A. A. Ramage, Jr., Mrs. J. H. Stone, Mrs. H. M Young, Sr, Miss Ruth Bailey, and Mrs C. Bynum Betts. Mrs. Weldon Jackson and daugh ter, Sara Weldon, accompanied by her mother, Mrs. W. L. Inskeep, Jacksonville, Fla., where they will be guests of friends. Dr. John McSween is conducting revival services this w r eek at the First Presbyterian church in Dar lington. Mrs. A. I. Dixon, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Dixon on Sunday visited their daughter and sister, Mrs. Homer Gantt, who is a patient at . the General hospital in Greenville. in St. Petersburg, Fla. He was ac companied on the trip by Mrs. Eichelberger and children, John and Barbara. While away for the week they will also visit other points of interest in Florida. Mrs. E. K. Garrison will leave to morrow for a visit with her daugh ters, Mrs. Oby Lewis, Mrt. C. E. Hendricks and their families in Darlington and Dillon. Mrs. Victor Grill of Norfolk, Va., and Pfc. Homer Bodie of Camp Rucker, Ala., are visiting their mother, Mrs. R. C. Stewart, and Mr. Stewart. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. They will go to Griffin, Ga., for the week-end to visit his parents. Dr. and Mrs. Harold M. Shields. Lt. Shields has recently returned from duty in Korea. Mrs. George W. Aiken Taylor and their families in Carth age and Burlington, N. C., recently. Mrs. John Henry of Greenville, is visiting her sister, Mrs. Ansel B. Godfrey, and other relatives here. Miss Agatha Bailey of Chester, visited her mother, Mrs. T. L. W. Bailey, over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. P B. Adair spent Sunday in Union with Mrs. S. S. Lankford. Mrs Hamp Boyd and son, Bobby, of Columbia, were visitors here Sunday.
