Misses Ruby Campbell and Delores Woman’s Club To Meet The Lydia Woman’s Club will meet tonight at the Lydia Commun ity building at 7:30 p. m. An inter esting program has been planned which will be given through the courtesy of the Coca-Cola Bottling company. All ladies of the community are Invited to join the organization. Mrs. R. E. Blue Birds’ Farit A Valentine party was giver! dur ing the regular meeting of Miss Mary Johnson’s group of Blue Birds Tues day. Games and the exchanging of Valentines were enjoyed by thfe group. A number of new members were welcomed into the group which comprises smaller Camp Fire girls. Later refreshments of cup cakes Alexander were visitors in Green-i and cold drinks were served. Mr. McLendon celebrated his 75th birth day Feb, 16. Mr. and Mrs. George Massey of Cross Anchor were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Boozer Monday. Mrs. Estelle Phillips of Greenville is visiting her sister, Mrs. M. P. Bradley, before leaving for Daytona, Beach, Fla., where she will make her home with her son. Mrs. Charles Scott of Greenville was the week-end guest of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Alexander. Class Party Wednesday afternoon of last week the six-year old primary class group of Lydia Baptist church held a val entine party in the church assembly room. Everyone enjoyed games directed by Mrs. R. E. Whitmire and Mrs. C. B. McLendon, class teachers. Val entines were exenanged after which the group was served refreshments, iollowing the valentine theme. Valentine Party Given Friday morning in the Kindergar ten rooms, a lovely Valentine party was given by the Kindergarten Mothers’ club. After playing several games, refreshments were served. From a red and white decorated box Valentines were given out by Mrs. H. J. Puckett, Mrs. Horace Smith and Mrs. Daniel Osborne. Little Boy Has Party Mrs. Connie Davis was hostess to about twenty children at the Kind ergarten on Monday morning. The party celebrated the sixth birthday of her small son, J. W. Davis. Sing ing games and stories play-acted en tertained the group. After singing •.■Happy Birthday’.’ refreshments were served, and the gifts were op ened and passed around. Demonstration Of Needlework Next Monday, February 23, from 4:60 o'clock in the afternoon until '10:30 p. m. the Community center will be open to all visitors to see the demonstration which will be put on by Mrs. Nellie Poster and Mrs. Her- mine Baarslag, two Dutch designers of needlework. Both are noted for their ability in this art, Mrs. Poster having designed many things for the needlework department of McCalls magazine. She was educated in Paris, France.
