-( \ I * ■ i _ . Thursday, December 11, 1952 THE CLINTON CHRONICLE Pasre Five Steele Speaks To Wildlife Group ^t Joanna Meet Harold Steele, agent lor the U. S. Wildlife Resources Commission, was the guest speaker last Monday night at Joanna of the Laurens county chapter of the S. C. Wildlife Federa tion. Mr. Steele, who humorously de- cribed himself as a “Federal game warden,” explained the program of the Federal government of conserv ing game and fish for the benefit of sportsmen. Indirectly, he said, such a program contributes to the preser- vaiton of the soil and other natural resources. A sound film was also shown, enlarging on the same idea. Hap Farmer of Pickens and Co lumbia, executive secretary of the South Carolina Fish and Game com mission, outlined the work that the commission has done in the few months it has been in service and declared it was “as good a commis sion as there is in the United States.” HOUSEHOLD HINTS Always darn from the right side of the material. This is necessary so you’ll know how the darn will look, as it shows on the right side. Never make knots in the thread as this will make the material uneven.
