Banquet Largely Attended ten On Friday evening the WMS and i the Brotherhood of Calvary. Bap tist church held the annual .Christ- : mas banquet in the social hall of the church. Mrs. Grady Smith, president of the WMS, gave the welcome with l L. R. Campbell making the * re- | sponse. The after dinner speaker, ! Sam Smith, of Connie Maxwell Children’s Home in Greenwood, made an interesting talk on the work being done at the institution. The social hall was lovely with Christmas decorations and a tree, under which were placed numer ous gifts which were presented to Mr. Smith for the children’s home. The WMS remembered Mrs. Grady Smith with a gift. To Giv* Christmas Party The Woman’s club will hold their annual Christmas party Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 7:30 at the Community house. Each member is asked to invite a guest and to bring some thing for an underpiviltged family of the community. Quarterly Conference Held The quarterly conference of the Fire Baptized conference of South Carolina was held Friday and Sat urday with the Fire Baptized Holi ness church on* Beauregard street.
