Cole Passes Near Laurens Laurens, Nov. 17—Rufus LaFayette Cole, 70, died early Monday afternoon at his home on the Greenwood high way following a serious illness of two weeks. Mr. Cole was a native of Laurens county, the son of the late LaFayette and Ella Owens Cole. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Pearl Sanders Cole; five sons, Earl of Laurens, Chris of Atlanta, R. L. of the United States Army in Alaska, Grady of the United States Air Force in Japan, and Irving Cole of the Un ited States Air Force at Donaldson Air Force Base in Greenville; five daughters, Mrs. Ruby Boone of Char lotte, Mrs. Margaret Moore of Watts- ville, Mrs. Lillie Mae Garrett of Spart anburg, Mrs. Betty Allen of Chicago, 111., and Miss Ina Cole of Laurens; two brothers, Mason Cole of Cross Hill and Tach Cole of Laurens, and two sisters, Mrs. Joe Chaney and Mrs. Stepp Smith of Cross Hill. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon from the Ken nedy mortuary chapel by the Rev. Stanley Hardee. Burial followed in Mt. Pleasant church cemetery. Mr. Grube was also here for the week-end. Mrs. C. M. Bailey, Mrs. W. L. Marshall and Miss Eloise Marshall -spent the week-end in Atlanta, Ga., and attended the Alabama- Tech game on Saturday. They were joined by Brewer Dixon, Sr., of Talladega, Ala., Kelly Dixon, student at the University of Ala bama and Bailey Dixon, student at Georgia Teph. Mrs. H. S Sease of Gilbert, is spending some time with her daughter, Mrs. O. C. Woodruff, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Haskins and children formerly of Spartanburg, are newcomers to Clinton and are residing in an apartment in the home of Mrs. C. H. McCrary on Florida street.
