Nice.-brxck Cover crop protection, whether you call in a green manure crop, catch crop, winter cover crop, summer cover crop, or a blanket of green, is what the land needs. This practice is a good one and is essential to good soil conservation. Vegetative growth on crop land protects the surface from both water and wind erosion. Cover crops also catch the unused fertilizer which remains in the soil after the cash crop has been harvested, i Farmers, in order to obtain good yields, apply considerable more ferti lizer than is used by the main cash crop. Cover crops will help prevent soil erosion, prevent excess plant nutrients from leaching, and save them for the succeeding crop arid/ at the same time. Improve the physical con dition of the soil and permit it to absorb more water. Cover cropping is a good conservation practice, according to J. B. O’Dell, of the Soil Conser vation Service. WELCOME! ft ft- :: ft ft ft ft I ft I The popularity of Pepsi-Cola*—both here and overseas—is the highest in history. This is a tribute to the quality of the product. Fine ingredi ents, high standards of manufacture and careful supervision are producing a refreshment that “hits the spot” with more and more people. • It is also due to added availability. The success of Pepsi-Cola in the familiar large two drink bottle has led to demand for a single drink size. This is increasingly available in vending ma chines^ in restaurants, service stations and factories — wherever people work, eat or play. Finally this popularity is a tribute to the Pepsi-Cola bottler. A local businessman who owns his own plant, invests his own capital and employs his own people, he it is who makes our plans come true in your community. The friendly cooperation between us is one of our greatest assets. Quality—distribution—and the family of Pepsi-Cola bottlers-^ 1 these ingredients are combining to put “more bounce to the ounce” into Pepsi-Cola sales.
