Tinsley told the guests goodbye. ♦- Dinner Party For Visitors Thursday evening Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Hollis entertained a few friends at dinner for Mr. and Mrs. Billy Owens of Savannah, Ga. Dinner was served buffet from the dining table which was overlaid with a white linen cut work cloth and centered with gladioli in * a silver bowl. Small tables adorned with tiny bouquets were laid for the guests. Elsewhere at vantage points dahlias, zinnias and gladioli were decorative. Rev. and Mrs. Allen McSween of i Lincolnton, N. C., who were also vis iting here were guests.for the party. AndersoirMatthews Rehearsal Party Before the rehearsal on Monday evening for the Anderson-iMatthews wedding Mr. and Mrs. Gary Lehn, Mr. and Mrs. George Prady enter tained the wedding party and out-of- town guests at dinner at Hotel Mary Musgrove. Places were laid for the guests at the long banquet table which was appointed in a pink and white wed ding motif. The centerpiece fashioned of roses and clematis was flanked by triple silver candelabra holding white tapers. A course turkey dinner was served. The bride and groom presented gifts to their attendants at this time. Miss Wanda Elledge Weds Charles Gore Miss Wanda Elledge, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Earl Elledge of Ware Shoals, became the bride of Charles L. Gore, son ' aTMr. and Mrs. L>. L. Core of Shal- lotte, N. C., Sunday afternoon, Au gust 10, at Camp Methodist church in Shallotte. The Rev. Lawrence Bridges officiated using the double ring ceremony. - Prior to the ceremony, Mrs. Lil lian Hewett, pianist, and Mrs. Dav id Carmichael, soloist, of Shallotte presented a program of nuptial music. The bride and bridegroom en tered together. Her wedding dress was ballerina length pink lace oyer taffeta. She wore matching pink lace mitts and pink shoes. Her shoulder length veil was of pink nylon and she carried a large nose gay of pastel colored asters with blue satin ribbon. Following the ceremony, they greeted the guests in the vestibule of the church. Mr. and Mrs. Gore left during the evening for a wedding trip to the beach. They are making their home at Village Point near Shal lotte. For traveling, Mrs- Gore changed to an aqua linen dress with matching accessories. - Mrs: Gore is a graduate of Thorn- well orphanage high school, and Winthrop college, Rock Hill, where she was awauded the Mary Sullivan Award as an outstanding sopho more. She also served on Student Council. She taught in the Gastonia city schools for two - years and is now a member of the Shallotte schools faculty. Mr. Gore is an honor graduate of Shallotte high school and has since Bride and Groom-Elect iionored With Lovely Reception by Youngs Following the rehearsal on Tues day evening, Mr. and Mrs. John T. Young and Miss Georgia B. Young entertained at their home on South Broad Street honoring Miss Mona Blakely and Earle Barron, whose wedding took place on Wednesday evening, and assembling the bridal party, the immediate family, and out-of-town guests. Throughout the spacious Young home a profusion of beautiful flowers were used for decoration. In the hall an arrangement of shaded rose zin nias was placed by the stairway and on the console white zinnias and gladioli were effective. Pink roses and dahlias combined with sprays of clematis adorned the living room mantel and elsewhere pink roses and zinnias were used with clematis ing room where the traditional green and white color note was carried out. Adorning the exquisitely ap pointed table, overlaid with an or gandy and lace cloth over green was the beautifully decorated and em bossed cake, topped with a minia ture bride and groom, outlined at the base with graceful sprays of clematis, and containing the em blems of fatee, flanked with burning candles in silver candelabra and on BRIEFS.. Marsh Accepts New School Job Coach Calvert R. Marsh has ac cepted the pnneipatship of Lower Richland high school and entered upon his duties July l. He is a ’graduate of Presbyterian college, imd received his M.A. degree from the University of South Carolina in June. " * .i He has been football coach and teacher at the school for -the past three years. Mr. Marsh married Miss Doris Fuller of this citv. WOUNDED IN KOREA Lt. Marion Marsh, former Pres-' byterian college student, received wounds in the Korean conflict on July 18, and is now a hospital pa tient in Japan.
