Little Girl Has Birthday Party Honoring her daughter, Sandra, on the occasion of her 6th birth day, Mrs| Winfred Norris entertain ed about thirty little folk on Sat urday afternoon at her home. Colorful party appointments and favors added to the festivities. Af ter a period of games ice cream, cookies and cake were seryed. Bridge Club Enjoys Meeting Thursday afternoon Mrs. Francis Blalock was hostess to members of her bridge club. Peonies and yellow Dutch iris arranged with lavender vsrbina added attraeitveness -to the card rooms. Two tables were in play with Mrs. J. B. Arnold winning top score. Folowing cards the hostess serv ed refreshments. Dinner Party Given For Friends Tuesday evening of last week at Lakeside Country club Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Hollis entertained about thirty friends with a dinner party. Iris and rosgs in artistic array, were used in decoration in the spacious club rooms. In the dining room the buffet supper table was overlaid with a linen cloth and centered with a bouquet of blue iris and red roses. — Out of town guests for the party included Mrs. James Walker of Co lumbia, Dr. C. C. Lyles of Spartan burg and Mrs. Alex Cruickshanks' of Columbia. Entertains Club For Bridge Wednesday Mrs. Prank Cauley entertained members of her bridge club on Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. G. W. Bell. Two tables yere in play with score awards going to Mrs. Davis R. Holland and Mrs. Jasper Row land. Mrs. Clyde Ramsey of Whit mire, was a special guest for the meeting. After cards the hostess served a salad and sweet course. Bouquets of roses, iris, tulips and snaps in pastel tints made a pret ty background for the tables. Mrs. Nabors Is Honored On Birthday A surprise birthday dinner for Mrs. Jobe Nabors was given by her children, Herman and Ralph Na bors, Mrs. C. G. Mrs. Robert Black Bridge Club Hostess The Wednesday bridge club was entertained last week at the home of Mrs. Robert F. Black. The Kings Give Bridge Dinner Lt. and Mrs. John William King of Columbia, entertained on Satur day evening at the home of the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Jacobs, with a dinner and bridge party. The buffet table in the dining room was beautifully appointed with a low bowl of roses flanked by burining tapers. Guests found their places at small tables arrang ed in the receiving rooms where Bride-Elect Feted By Mrs. Hellams, Jr. Miss Joan Anderson, bride-elect, was entertained Saturday afternoon when Mrs. R. B. Hellams, Jr., of this city and Athens, Ga., honored her with a miscellaneous shower at the home of the hostess’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Workman, Sr. i The honoree’s chair was marked with a yellow carnation corsage. ’ Iris and roses artistically arrayed,, were used in the living room and in the dining room a green and white 1 motif prevailed. A cutwork linen | cloth overlaid the table which was adorned with an arrangement of English dogwood, white roses and narcissus, flanked by triple crystal candelabra holding white tapers. Later a salad course was joyed. Emily Bailey Feted On 13th Birthday On the occasion of her 13th birth day, April 23, Emily Bailey, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. P. S. Bailey, was honored by a group of friends with a surprise dinner party at 6:30 in the ballroom of Hotel Mary Musgrove. The table was lovely with blue phlox, pink tulips aqd wigelia and the birthday cake also decorated in the chosen party color motif. The honoree was remembered with a gift, and after v dinner dancing was enjoyed. Mrs. Julian S. Bolick and Mrs. James Pitts assisted the following hostesses in entertaining: Lil lian Hart, Jackie and Sara Pitts, Margaret Ann Bolick, Florence Winn, Jennie and Elaine Addisan, Betty Jane Hamer, Terrell Cook, Ann Baker, Angela Clements and Martha McMillian. , Junior Glass Honors Seniors With Banquet The traditional banquet given for members of the senior class of Clin ton high school by the juniors was held on Friday evening at the ar mory. The building was transformed for the occasion into a beautiful starlight seting. The overhead was draped in blue and studded with stars. Pine and dogwood banked the .setting. The programs, “Mem ories,” carrying out the blue and silver and in keeping with the class motto. “Hitch Your Wagon to a Star,” were used as place cards. In a setting of lovely pastel flow ers including roses, sweetpeas and iris, five tables were placed for the games. Visitors prize went to Mi? Pringle Copeland, Sr., and club high to Mrs. J. J. Cornwall. Mrs. Irby Hipp won second high and Mrs. Heath Copeland floating prize. Later in the afternoon a salad course was enjoyed. Again on Wednesday morning Mrs. Payne entertained a few friends informally. During the morning guests were invited into the dining room for refreshments of salad, punch and other dainties which were served buffet. Roses and sweetpeas in pink and dark red were Mrs. Henry Trammell, Mrs. j W. W. Harris and Miss Mary John son. The program for the evening was given by Mrs - . W. - C. Baldwin and Mrs. Frank Miller, who told of a recent trip to historic Natchez, Miss., and other points of interest in that vicinity. Later a social hour and dessert course was enjoyed.
