Ross, Mrs. Lavinia Cooley and Mike spent the week-end in Rockingham, N. C., with Mr. and - Mrs. Charles Ross. Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Hair joined the family honoring Mrs. Ross’ birth day. Miss Velda Fanner joined friends in Columbia and spent the week end in Jacksonville, Fla., with friends. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Jones and son, Mike, of Whitmire, visited the latter’s mother, Mrs. Helen Rowe, Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Poag joined Mr. and Mrs. Ben Fuller in Clnton and visited h. W. Cole, a patient at the Veteran’s hospital in Oteen, N. C., Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Osborne of Columbia, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Osborne. Bill Poag visited friends in Grebnville over the week-end. Mrs. E. L. Thomas was surprised Sunday when the following guests arrived unexpectedly to help cele brate her 'birthday: Mr. and Mrs. J. L. McCravy and children of Ches ter, Mr. and Mrs. George Wilson and family of Bath, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bartlett of Spartanburg. . Mr. and Mrs. S. J. At Joanna Baptist Church Revival services began at Joanna* Baptist church on Sunday and will continue through Sunday evening, April 27. Rev. William Faircloth, pastor of Rosewood church, Columbia, is the visiting minister, and Rev. J. E. Walker, pastor of Glenn Street church, Newberry, is leading con gregational music. Morning ser vices are held Wednesday thiough Friday at 10 o’clock and evening services begin at 7:30. Special music will be given by the choirs of the church each evening. Rev. James Mitchell, pastor, in vites the public to attend. Maltese Cross Sub-District Meets The Maltese Cross sub-district met Monday night in Clinton with Broad Street Methodist church. Fourteen membeKs of the MYF from Joanna attended. The group assembled in the recreation room and the president, Miss Joyce Hart, of the First church, Laurens, pre sided.
