WSCS Holds March Meat Last Tuesday evening at Ep- worth church the Woman’s Society of Christian Service held its meet ing. The president, Mrs. Joe Giles, presided over the business session. On March 6th Mrs. Faye Woot en, Jack Wooten, Mrs. Polly Woot en and S. L. Oakley, Sr., were ad mitted to Joanna hospital for treat ment. Little Margaret Etters, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Etters, of Clinton, is a patient at the local hospital for Treatment. • Mrs. Louise Mays is being treat ed at the local hospital. Mrs. Eld Hunnicutt is quite ill at her home on Milton Road. Little Judy Tucker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Tucker, is be ing treated at Joanna hospital. Undergoing surgery at the local hospital Tuesday was Mrs. Eunice Long. Miss Jeanette Bragg is out again following a week of confinement with flu. Friends of F’loyd Abrams will re gret to learn he underwent a knee operation at Columbia hospital, on Tuesday. Little Phoebe Darnell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Darnell, ,is being treated at the local hospital. Birthday Dinner Given Mr. and Mrs. John Burnett, Sr., honored Heyward Tumblin of Clin ton with a birthday dinner Sunday. Heyward was 11 years old.—Those attending the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Knight and children of^Clinton, Mrs. Mae Knight of near Clinton, and Mr. and Mrs. William Kitchen of Newberry. Lat er Mr. and Mrs. James Evans of Newberry, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Dean of Clinton called. Celebrates Birthday On March 6th Brantley Bishop was host to 14 boys and girls hon oring his 9th birthday. The cele bration was at his home on Pick ens street. Mrs. J. C- Lambert led the children in many unusual games. The dining table was attractive ly laid with a white linen cover and the centerpiece was a white cake decorated in blue with burn ing candles. Party cups filled with colored candies were used for fa vors. Mrs. Cecil Bishop, Brant ley’s mother, assisted by Mrs. John ny Stroud, served the birthday cake, ice cream and drinks.
