Smith attended the funeral of his uncle, Ernest Hallman, in Monetta Saturday. On Sunday the Smiths were guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Smith, in Lees- ville. J. H. Carper will return Friday to his home in Temple, Texas, af ter spending some time, here with his daughter, Mrs. Tom Ficklin, and family. Mrs. W. G. Henry Cronic has re turned from Korea and is spending a leave here with Mrs. Cronic. Lt. Cronic, who has been overseas more than a year will attend an army school at Fort Sill, Okla., at | the end of a month’s leave. Mrs. George R.
